The brushes are advertised as brass. Are they brass or metal coated with brass ? I am looking for brass bristles

Chemically / Metalergy I cannot state, however the bristles feel like my older (DEFINITELY brass) brushes and the metal is the same colour through each strand. The bristles are thin, I'll give you that, but at this price point they would be. If your task is going to go expensively or irreversibly wrong by using the wrong brush type then I'd suggest investigate what, say, the CK tool range has to offer, and possibly look at an electronics vendor, such as RS Components. I use mine on simple vehicle projects where I want a brush that is metal but softer than steel and for that purpose these brushes are excellent value and suit my needs. Its horses for courses.
