Better than grass pads
I wish we had bought this first! We started our puppy with a grass pad that was on a tray. He took to it right away, but the drainage was horrible, so his feet were always wet and we had footprints all over our vinyl floor. gross. Then, when he turned about 16 weeks, he started scratching at the grass pad and chewing it. He swallowed some, threw up some, passed some, etc. Gross and super scary when he threw up a chunk of grass and rubber backing. I sprayed some potty here spray on the grate of the new potty, and placed a small piece of his last poo on there so that he had some of his own scent. He had no problem using it right away. We are using the Glad for Pets Black Charcoal Puppy Pads | Puppy Potty Training Pads That ABSORB & NEUTRALIZE Urine Instantly | New & Improved Quality Puppy Pee Pads, 150 count. They fit pretty well and the grate keeps him from being able to get to the pad. The feet on the new potty keep it from slipping on the smooth concrete. It will be so nice not to have to rinse the grass pads. They smelled like the fish cleaning stands at the pier. lol. I am not thrilled about having more stuff (disposable pads) to throw away, but for now this is the best solution for us. We have a pet door to the garage. with an enclosure around the potty. My husband is home full time, but this way, he doesn't have to constantly open the patio door to let the puppy out. Plus, winter in Iowa is not a fun time to do that anyway. Our puppy can run to the garage whenever his small bladder tells him to. And NO WET FEET!!! yay!

I never thought I'd be so happy to see a pee pad holder in my life!!!
I've recently added two 3 month old Maltzu puppies to our home & I've decided to pad train them to allow them to freely relieve themselves while I'm away at work. Previously, I was totally against pee pads, but after losing dogs to kidney failure, I've conceded that this route may be a good decision for the health & comfort of future fur babies! When setting up their puppy space, I put 2 crates up, back to back. One side is their sleeping area & the other is an area for them to relieve themselves. I initially put a pee pad in the crate tray. Much to my dismay, my puppies completely demolished the pad, where there were little pieces of pad & pad dust in the crate & the floor outside of the crate. I was so worried that my fur babies may have ingested some of the pieces and would get sick from doing so. This lead me to make a quick run to Pet Smart to see if they had anything to remedy this situation. I was so excited when I saw a pee pad holder that totally enclosed the pad, which would deter puppies from ripping or playing with them. I was so excited until I got home & the holder was too big for the crate! When I put it on the floor, however, my puppies took to it quickly and began eliminating on it! So, I had to find another tray to put inside of the crate. To Amazon I went, as none of my local pet stores had a smaller size. I was so excited to see that your company offered a smaller size & hoped it would be what I needed for my crate. When it arrived, I immediately set it up and GUESS WHAT? IT FIT PERFECTLY & my babies took to it right away! WOOHOO! The tray does a great job of keeping paws and puppies free of urine, as the liquid drops down beneath the grates, keeping the surface dry! It is also very easy to clean. You simply unclip the grate that secures the pad below, remove the soiled pad & rinse off the grate with warm water! Very quick & easy! My fur babies & I thank you for offering such a great product!

Durable
I think the product is great. The light green parts snaps in place so no way my puppies can pull it out the pad is not sticking out of the sides. One time a small piece stuck out and the dogs pull a portion of the pad out, but if you make sure no pieces are out, they won't touch it. I buy pads from Walmart which of course are not designed for this item; however, I just fold the sides which I'm perfectly fine with. The reason I left one star out is because I have two male puppies. They always tend to go at the very end causing their urine to run down the sides or at the latches. I don't think is would be food for a boy puppy especially one that semi lifts his leg. I would love for this manufacturer to make one with walls bc I believe the quality of this product is superior. My other puppy is litter trained but the walls on his box prevent urine from going everywhere even when he would lift his legs, it would drip down into the box. Overall, this is a good product but would be even better if we could also have the option with walls. It's also ray to clean. At tes, my puppies poop would stick between the holes, but spray water and vinegar and it'll come out. It's pretty quick and easy to clean up.

Read my review first before buying
I trained my first dog whom i still have to this day on a similar Pet Potty and boy did I make the right decision. It promotes dogs not feeling bad about using the bathroom and why should ya humans have the luxury to deface in our home and scold our dogs? It’s a paradigm I don’t enjoy but it’s true. If I were you reading this review, I would seriously commit yourself to teaching your animal how to use this thing. For me, I took my pup out of the kennel every morning and placed him on the potty. After a week, he knew I wanted him to consistently pee and poo on it and it began to give him joy to do it without persecution. Please realize this product replaces pee pads, which gets so nasty and cost so much. I love these. I would recommend buying two instead of one because of how small they are. I just adopted a Great Pyrenees male puppy and he is truly loving the freedom to go on the potty. It even helps him balance himself while taking a number two. Thank you all for making this I have 4 of these potties now. I love them and recommend you use bleach and then rinse in the tub. It’s convenient to not have to rush home to let the dogs out. I would recommend kennel training and sectioning the dog off on the potty. Try putting cardboard boxes on each side and the dog in the middle on top of the potty. Eventually. It will have to take a one or two. This is the best advice for stubborn animals that take joy marking the house. Or alpha dogs who need to get tamed.
