Finally, a quality, complete set in one package
I'm a little picky when it comes to bits. I work in HVAC service and start up, and I find that I need to have a complete set of the most common fastener drivers for use with bit ratchets, bitholding screwdrivers, torque tools, and impact driver adapters. Thing is, most big box store tool brands don't offer a complete set, are of questionable quality, come in oversized cases, and inundate you with PH2s and TX25s. German brands offer better selection and better quality, but ars typically similarly oriented towards power tool usage/repeated ph&tx fastener installation, and it's difficult to find a set that includes BOTH metric AND imperial hex sizes. For a while I had been building my own kits using wera's cloth bit organizers and PB swiss bits that I purchased individually. But...that too was less than ideal, as the cloth bit organizer held onto moisture more than I'd like, and the bits had a tendency of falling out and getting lost in the bottom of my veto tech pac. This hits all the right checkboxes. Long and compact organizer that's great for tool bag use, quality bits, a little longer than traditional 25mm bits (which is GREAT for motor starters that tend to use recessed PHZ or PH screws - a typical bit in a holder has a hard time reaching those). All that, and the price is right. Now...could it be better? Sure. The bit holder included is...meh. Not magnetic, uses a retaining ring, doesn't solidly engage. And...honestly...I've been a little spoiled recently with the completely rust-free performance of wera's inox bits, as well as the rock-solid durability of PB swiss bits. But that's not enough for me to dock any stars, because finally I found a great set that is geared towards a MECHANIC and won't break the bank. A+ for the folks behind vessel.

Excellent bits, they are JIS tips, work with any std driver.
Bought these bits because they are JIS and they work perfectly with my Vessel ratcheting ball-grip bit driver, but they work well in any standard bit driver. The tips are extremely well machined and the tips fit fasteners better than any bits I've ever had. Much better than my Wiha and Dewalt bits anyway. The case is fine as well, and as long as I don't turn it upside-down and shake it, the bits stay in just fine. The bit holder that comes with the set is pretty bad, but I've got plenty of others, so that doesn't matter to me. Also, these bits are 30mm instead of the standard 25mm, which won't make any difference in anything, other than if you need to fit them in a case deigned specifically for 25mm long bits. I'd definitely buy these again.

High Quality Bits
Vessel makes high quality bits. I've gone through many Torx bits with them stripping out pretty quickly until I bought Vessel brand Torx bits. I haven't had a Vessel bit strip out yet. This is a high quality set, with a nice sturdy feeling case. The case slides apart slightly giving better access to the 2 levels of bits. You can only push the bit extender out while the levels are split apart. The bit extender is not magnetic. The bits are very weakly magnetized, if you want them magnetized before usage I'd recommend using a bit magnetizer to make the field stronger. As-is, the magnetic field on the bits is insufficient to hold a screw to the bit. I do wish they had this set available with the longer 50 mm bits so I can attach my Vessel magnetizer to the bits. The Vessel magnetizer slid over the bit is a much better option then a comparably weaker magnetized bit in my opinion. It is for this reason alone that I'm likely to buy more Vessel bits apart from this kit. Update: While this set is not advertised JIS compatible, it appears to be a perfect fit. As I was checking on it's compatibility, I ran across information stating the old JIS standard was replaced with an ISO standard. Whether this is true, I am unsure. The JIS standard for screws has been changed in 1997, 2013 and 2018. Another source says the 2018 standard aligns with ISO 3408-4 and 3408-5 for axial rigidity and static and dynamic load ratings. I presume the differences may be negligible or you may run into issues based upon the age of the fastener and driver. I could not find any compatibility information beyond that. I did run across some advertisements stating Vessel tools were designed to work with both JIS and Phillips screws. A US Vessel distributor does list this product as JIS compatible on it's website. I found the easiest way to check was to try the bits in a dimpled JIS screw. The #2 bit holds the screw snugly and will hold onto the screw horizontally. There is virtually no play in the screw head. My DeWalt bits perform much the same however with a little bit of play. My generic Philips bits also hold the screw horizontally however twist out of the screw with a good amount of play.

Good quality but a little pricey
High quality driver bits, fitment to screw head is just about perfect. A little pricey for a driver but set but the quality is worth the extra cost.

Best option so far (UPDATE 11/22/2023)
ORIGINAL REVIEW (04/15/2022): This is far more convenient to carry than the typical rectangular clamshell plastic cases that always tend to scatter your bits around. The form factor for carrying and organizing bits is similar the Wera impact set at half the price. The sliding mechanism to access the second row of bits was a bit stiff out of the box. I'd recommend applying some lubricant to the 3 sliding rails while in the open position (pictured), and racking the slide a few times to distribute the lube. After doing this, the case slides much better and I am satisfied with the operation. The selection of bits is extensive, and will cover the majority of my needs as a landlord who maintains and services my own properties. I feel confident throwing this into my tool bag that it will cover 99% of my general maintenance needs as far as driving bits go. Vessel is a quality brand that is definitely worth checking out, and I'm glad to see them gaining popularity in the West. I would also highly recommend their ball-grip drivers like the one pictured (handle only; added bit holder extension). The ergonomics are some of the best out there and very reasonably priced despite their exceptional quality. The included bit holder has no magnet and the spring clip mechanism is a pain to swap bits, but I didn't buy this for the bit holder. I'm sure you could remove the spring clip and glue in a thin magnet and it would be okay, although it may not be worth the trouble. UPDATE 11/22/2023: While I was initially very happy with this set, I am unfortunately going to remove a star from my original review. Here is why: The quality and fit on these bits are still very good, but they are beginning to rust with very minimal use. They have just been sitting in my tool bag, and bits that I haven't even used once are beginning to show surface rusting. It appears that not much effort was put into coating these or providing adequate corrosion resistance. I ended up soaking them in vinegar and then soaking them in a penetrating oil. Unfortunately, the etching on some of the bits that indicate the size have become illegible and I can no longer read them. That is not a huge deal however, and I think they will still perform just fine for their intended use. I am disappoint by how quickly these have started to rust, and expecting something better for this price. To be fair, however, I am located in South Florida and we have pretty extreme humidity. I ended up removing the less frequently used bits from the original case and moved them into a vinyl holder to reduce space. You can see how the vinegar and oil has drastically changed the finish. They are still excellent bits, so please don't let me discourage you from purchasing these, just make sure to oil them and maybe keep some silica gel packets wherever your store these (which we should really be doing anyway). Perhaps I am to blame for not caring for these better. Even the most premium tools are not completely impervious to corrosion. I admit that I should have oiled them sooner. I would still recommend them, and still very fond of the Vessel brand in general.
