And I did not realize when I ordered this book that it is released by the people who now publish Victoria magazine -- Hoffman Media. I was delighted with this volume and pleasantly surprised to find the same sort of quality that I used to love about the earlier tea books when Victoria was in its 'formative' years. I like a lot of pictures in my cookbooks; they help to inspire me and get me in the mood to cook. I also like to read other peoples' ideas about cooking and presentation and this book has all of the above. The pictures are first rate and the write ups of different tea rooms around the country are very interesting and motivating. I have always thought that scones were pretty straightforward and simple. But it is astonishing how many variations of scones there are, and all of them are fairly easily done. For those who like to branch out into different types of tea, there are plenty of informative sections on tea varieties and pairings. While those did not interest me as much as the recipes, there were several teas mentioned that sounded appealing that I have never heard of. Whether you are a novice in the tea department, or an old hand at taking tea, there is something for everyone in this lovely book and I can't imagine being disappointed with it. Every gluten free recipe I could find online called for strange things that I would have no use for in the future so I didn't really want to try them. I was happy to find this and get several gluten free scone recipes that were easy and came from a source that I knew would taste good. Since then I have tried several other recipes and have enjoyed them a lot too. If you like scones this is a good book.
