i have a 07 A4 audi, my old aux system i had in my car installed by previous owner got spliced so i lost sound in my right speaker. i gave this a try and it worked great. i have a stock radio and ended up being the exact one that was in the car which worked out great. its plug and play and make sure you ground it to the small screw in the back. i have no use for the USB cable so i dont know how well that works but the AUX cable works great. would definitely recommend to anyone else trying to play tunes from their phone.

Installed on my 2007 Audi S4. If you are looking at this, buy it. After my fail with an aftermarket android unit, this is much more simple and does the job just fine. Sounds great too.

Hooks up fine on my 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon TDI with Monsoon radio. And the music comes through fine. But there is a very noticeable whine associated with engine speed. Not acceptable, hence the 1-star review. An audio item should have interference free audio.

I put this in place of the cd changer cable on the back of my factory monsoon radio for my 2004 VW Jetta. I didn't have to reprogram the radio with Vagcom, just plug in the harness, turn it on, hit CD twice and it comes to life! It's so easy! The only bad thing is when you turn it up high there is a slight electrical feedback, it could be due to the grounding location which I did quick on the back of the radio. I'm going to try to relocate it later, but if the sound coming in is loud enough you don't really hear it. The USB port charges and you can play music from a USB drive, I used a 32 GBeven though it says 16GB is max,but there's limitations on folders and no text is read on the screen just numbers about the folder and order of songs. I tried hooking up an iphone 4 and it wouldn't do anything. The instructions say anything from iPhone 3 and everything before that works. I couldn't get anything to work from my S7 or Note 8 other than the head phone port. 4 Stars because of the feedback. It's been noted by other people in their reviews also so it might be just how this is.

The rating is based on the product out of the box, not including the modifications I made to get it to work properly. This was purchased for installation on a VW Premium 6 radio. I have tried two of them now with the same issue which I managed to diagnose and remedy. Installation Of the adapter was a breeze as the unit is mostly plug and play and all you have to do is screw in a grounding clip. However, there is a fundamental flaw with the item: the AUX ground is wired with the USB power ground. This is a problem as when the engine is running, the USB power bleeds through the AUX via the bad ground resulting in alternator whine/engine noise in the speakers. Many other reviewers/customers of this product complain of the same thing. My working solution was to run a wire from the chassis(ground) to the ground terminal of the 3.5mm AUX adapter.(See Photos) I combined that with a 2.5mm balanced output adapter+insulation ring for my FiiO BTR5 I was also installing as the input device, since 2.5mm balanced doesn’t use ground. The result I was left with was blissfully clean audio absent of any external noise, AT ANY VOLUME!!! It is usable without modifying the wiring if you don’t mind the alternator whine/crackling noise above 40% volume. I am not sure of a working solution that would negate the engine noise without the help of a 2.5mm balanced adapter. Certainly not a enjoyable experience having to diagnose and fix a “plug and play“ product. Had the AUX and USB grounds been separated from the factory, this would’ve been a 5 star product.

Works as it should on a Vw GLi 2008 with RCD500 radio. Plugs into the former iPod/iPhone 3 port and replaces it. CD sound quality but USB only charges phone. For some reason it took a couple minutes to work. Very pleased.
