The leather is not very thick. But for the price of the jacket this is very reasonable. This jacket has a nice fit to it and very soft right out of the box. I normally wear a size 46, but a large fit me very comfortable (Tag listed as a size 44). The quality of the jacket is good, you won't be upset with your purchase in this price range. This is a great copy of the original. The jacket has a talon zipper that may stick in the beginning, but will loosen up over time. The sleeves are not baggy on this jacket at all, very roomy and close fit. Comfortable fit in the shoulder area, this jacket hugs the shoulder very nice. The only area I found to be roomy was the belly area. So, depending on how you were the jacket either zipped or unzipped may determine a preference on sizing. The fur collar is very soft. The back gussets are very roomy so moving your arms around will not feel restrictive. The length extends just over the belt are, and is not too short. Overall, this jacket is a great bang for your buck. And they got back to me for the right size fit. I ordered the size they suggested which fit perfectly. But the arms a a little long though. But everybody’s arms are different sizes. It is amazing flight jacket. Well worth the money. As for how long the jacket last is something I will have to find out. I just got it. I’m 5’ 10”, 240lbs, with a 43 - 44 inch chest. And the told me to order a XXL tall. I did and it fits perfectly. Thank you for your help guys. You really do take good care of your customers. They really need to up their game or stick to custom. Having returned this jacket under the 'free returns' I was shocked to see a $38 'restocking fee'. Where in the hayzeus is there a restocking fee mentioned...? This is the reply I got in reference to the mismatched wool: 'The cuffs actually are not a defect but an exclusive feature which is expensive than normal cuffs. where Hem rib comes normal but cuff ribs comes with two levels of stretch. It is made with as original technique as WW2 orignal navy seals and vintage stuff is always expensive. So dont worry as that is not a defect but a feature which every vintage lover wants to have as per original historic details in jacket'. Give me a break. I've had a custom B3 made by this company and it was very good-not great. I'd do it again now knowing what to expect and adjusting accordingly. With that said, this jacket is 'meh'. The picture shows mismatched 'rib rack' cuffs paired with plain waist banding and mismatched colors to boot. As for fit it's good except that it's too short in the front and it is annoying to always be hitting my belt line. Also the waist is sewn too loosely and leaves it gaping open allowing air to waft up into the body. The goatskin itself is quite nice although it is their lighter weight and thus lighter by 5oz compared again, to a 'normal' G1 or any comparable aftermarket leather jacket. It is very comfortable, I'll give it that. So, if you're a G1 buff don't get this. If you just want something to knock around in and don't care for historical accuracy get it. 2XL (48) was my choice. I went with one size up which corresponded to my actual size 46 and measurements were accurate except for the waist.
