Review: Great for Brass and Stainless Soldering - This works well for silver soldering brass to brass, stainless to brass, and stainless to stainless. There's a bit of a learning curve, but when you get the temperature high enough, the Flux pulls the solder into the joint and creates a strong bond. Silver solder requires more heat, which could burn off regular solder, but this stuff stays in place. Notes: - I learned from an online video that if you melt solder and let it pool around a joint, it will flow into the space with flux applied as the temperature increases to the sweet spot. - Only put flux where you need it, as the solder will be drawn to it. - The parts must be cleaned well. - Take your time bringing it up to temperature. If you blast it, carbon deposits can accumulate and interfere with bonding. - I tried this with Mapp gas and propane; most joints easily get hot enough with propane. - The flux leaves a crusty residue that can be removed after it cools. I use a wire brush. Overall a great product!
Review: It does the job well - Works like it's supposed to.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i use this flux w/silver solder 43 by allweld?**
A: Yes, this is a generic flux for silver soldering.

**Q: Can I use this to solder a small ring on a piece of stainless steel jewelry?**
A: You can But be very careful use a very small tourch not to get to hot, I would try on a scrap piece.

**Q: Can this me used on mirror in a stained glass piece?**
A: Nope, this is an active fluoride flux for silver soldering. It also contains borax. After heating, this will eat your mirror, fluxing away the metal coating, and the heat required will destroy the glass pieces. Use the soft solder flux instead also by Harris.
Lower temperature, and a bit less active, being an acid flux. Keep it off the mirror coating. I would also try a liquid rosin flux as for electronics, but it may not be active enough for the pewter canes. The pewter develops oxides pretty quick. The old lead canes required an aggressive flux like No-Corrode, but needed neutralization later so the copper edge wraps wouldn't dissolve over time/

**Q: Paste or powder ?**
A: Paste
