Guaranteed to make you feel, 2nd Chance Romance
This journey tore me apart for all the feels it threw out. I loved and hated in equal measure as I rode along in their world of a second chance. After all, Holden and Charleigh couldn't stop loving each other for over eight years now, even though they tried. Holden supposedly acting like a horndog (lost a bit of respect for his character on that) for a time, didn't really portray devastation in a good light for me. All the guilt and recriminations wouldn't and didn't change a thing, so it did get slow for me in places when it kept reiterating their very poor "choices". I feel Charleigh and Holden both, had made their mistakes, so I didn’t understand why he needed to prove so much more to her now. She got knocked up, not him, and she evidently was too immature to stand up for herself, or count. There were plenty of current scary situations and new developments to send me in a tizzy where I couldn't put the book down. Number one being the safety of that adorable and intelligent little girl, Faith. She was the gem in all this and I loved her character.Ms Edwards has a brilliant way of taking today's ugly realities, and working them into a compelling read with heroes where we all get our happily ever afters. There is a secondary or backstory in here that should be coming up in Jonny's journey that I am looking forward to.

Bad writing, bad story, just bad
I’d give this zero stars if it was an option. The premise of this book could have been interesting. However, the way it was written is awful.SPOILERHolden is in love with Charleigh. He finds out he may not be able to have kids so he dumps Charleigh because she wants kids. But he keeps sleeping with her for a few months because he “loves” her so much. Apparently he has never heard of adopting or fertility treatment. Confused/hurt by his dumping her but still having sex with her, she ends up having a drunken one night stand with one of his army buddies who secretly loves her. Of course she gets pregnant and doesn’t know who the father is. Even though he dumped her and treated her like crap, Holden can’t forgive her for sleeping with his friend so instead of admitting he can’t have kids, he basically calls her a slut. She has the kid. Marries the friend. Husband dies in combat before kid is born. At this point, a 5 minute conversation would clear everything up. But no. 8 YEARS go by while Holden secretly loves/hates Charleigh and Charleigh loves/hates Holden. But neither speaks to the other. Finally, after a lot of mind numbing useless dialogue the big mystery/secret is revealed to all. This book should have been about 25 pages. The only thing keeping the main couple apart in this book was the couple themselves. There was no villain. I’ve never been so disappointed I spent money on a book before. I definitely won’t risk buying any more books by this author.

Two souls tortured & torn apart by past mistakes fight for a second chance at life & love
Holden has only ever loved one woman, Charleigh. In a moment of doubt, he pushed her away into the arms of one of his fellow teammates and things were never the same. Years later, Holden’s close call with death brings Charleigh back into his life, but he can’t bear to see her & her little girl, Faith. They are too great a reminder of everything he lost when he allowed doubt & fear to take root in his mind. When it becomes obvious that Charleigh’s not leaving town any time soon, he tries to make peace with the past, but finds he can’t - especially when her dead husband’s family start after Charleigh & Faith. Seeing her & Faith threatened tears the lock off the box in his mind that kept every feeling he had for her at bay. Holden can no longer hold back his feelings for Charleigh & makes them known. Just as things appear to be healing in their relationship, all hell breaks loose when Faith is kidnapped & Charleigh is severely injured. Holden is ruthless in his pursuit to locate Faith & return her to her mom. As Holden races to find Faith, secrets of the past are revealed and no one is safe from the darkness brought to light. Can Holden & Charleigh fight for each other through the darkest of times to see the breaking of dawn? Can Holden really have it all - Charleigh as his wife & a family?I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A second chance story of love and redemption
This is the 6th book in the Gemini Group series. It is a beautiful second chance romance where we are reminded that all choices have consequences and pasts cannot be changed only accepted. Eight years ago Holden had it all, a beautiful forever love with Charleigh, strong friendships and a military career. But Holden threw Charliegh and his happiness away because of a choice that he thought was selfless and one drunken night leads to Charleigh being pregnant and married to Holden’s teammate, Paul. Paul dies in battle before Charleigh’s daughter Faith is born asking Holden to take care of Charleigh and Faith with his dying breath. Despite the passage of 8 years, Charleigh and Holden have never got back together even though they have never stopped loving each other. After Holden is shot, Charleigh moves to be closer to him to see if they can get back what they always should have had. The journey to Holden and Charleigh’s HEA is a twisted and winding path full of pain and redemption. They will both have to finally deal with their painful past in order to find a future together as a family. This book has everything - laughter, tears, fan your face steam, strong friendships, family bonds, fear, betrayal, and so much love. With Holden’s Resurrection, Riley Edwards once again proves she’s a fantastic storyteller. I am excited to hear what happens next for the folks in the Gemini Group.

Brilliant!
Riley Edwards is one of those authors who has the power to put you through so many emotions with her writing every single time; going in to Holden's Resurrection I knew I was going to cry, smile, get frustrated and angry and I loved every minute. I can't recommend it enough.Holden gave up Charleigh so she could have the one thing he couldn't give her and it ripped him apart him. Charleigh was devastated when Holden left her, she never understood why and never stopped loving him. After years apart they are back in each other’s lives but its emotionally destroying them, can they overcome the past and fight for each other this time?Holden and Charleigh's story is one of heartbreak, betrayal, misunderstanding and devastation, it will break your heart and make you want to shout in frustration but it's also a story about the power of love and forgiveness. A wonderful roller coaster of twists and turns, emotions all over the place brilliant story, I will never get enough of this author.

Heart wrenching yet satisfying
A story of love found, lost for so many wrong reasons, buried for even more misconceptions and lies and then found again with a solid dose of pain and suffering thrown in.Holden is the character you want to hug and slap at the same time, he owes so much of this to his own “selflessness” and actions and yet seems determined to make Charleigh suffer for this.I went into this book determined to dislike her based on previous books but actually found that it was Holden who needed to bring me round in the end.Adored this book and a solid addition to the series

A mighty read packing an emotional punch!
Another exceptionally well written book from Riley Edwards. Whilst waiting for her latest offering, I went off exploring other authors in the same genre trying to stumble across a new favourite. It was only when I then got round to reading Holden’s Resurrection I was reminded how talented this author is and how few can compare. How Ms Edwards wraps so many emotions and depths of characters lives in one book is astounding. She puts you through the wringer, with tears and sighs of frustration, or relief and happiness with her characters being voiced out loud by the reader. (Beware it can result in a few raised eyebrows and sniggers if reading in public!!)Holden’s resurrection is a mighty addition to the Gemini group series and more than well worth a read. Should definitely be enjoyed as part of the series as a whole, you will get so much more out of the book that way. It will also leave you with a healthy respect and admiration for the talent of the author. Can’t wait for the final instalment of this series, I’m certain it will be another triumph!
