It should work fine **Q: Where on the dog are you poking to get the blood sample?** A: I shave a small area on the top of my dogs tail , near where the tail starts . I pull up a small amount of skin between my thumb and index finger and then polk it with the lancet, it can take a 5-10 sec. before you get a nice drop of blood, but that depends on your dog - it could be faster. I have tried the upper paw pad and the ear - it's just too uncomfortable for the dog. **Q: When do these expire?** A: I dont think they expire.
