Brilliant and very informative book full of amazing details that were unknown to me , I live really near to what was once West Malling airfield which is now sadly gone and has now become a massive housing estate , so gone are the gorgeous woodlands with WW2 airmen's carvings of their loved ones in carefully engraved love heart's up among the highest trees which we would play in as young children . The only remnant from the airfield which has been preserved as a listed building has been added to and become a mini gallery come Costa coffee shop is the old plane control tower which when I was a young teen was often giving out indecipherable messages picked up on our home TV as we only lived a mile away from the airfield .

Very interesting.
It’s going to be very interesting visiting these current and abandoned sites. The book has good detail.

Hihgly delighted with book
This was bought for my Stepfather who lent his first of copy the book to a friend, and never had it returned. So he is highly delighted to have received this for Christmas. Many thanks.

Very good buy
Good book but not all is correct. Unfortunatelly, you can find here some propaganda rather then facts, so beware of it being a historian specialized in the Battle of Britain or even a researcher. Of course, this is not a complete history of those airfields, only just a small book about them. Still buy it, its cheap.
