The Life of Mary as Seen by the Mystics

One of the most spiritually inspiring books I have ever read!
This is one of my favourite books about the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, along with "The Mystical City of God" by Venerable Mary of Agreda. The book brings together the separate revelations of Catholic Mystics Ven. Anne Catherine Emmerich, Ven, Mary of Agreda, plus other Mystics into one single narrative. It covers the different periods of Mary's life from her Immaculate Conception through to her death and Assumption into Heaven. The book is incredibly descriptive of Mary's personality, humility, holiness, piety, prayerfulness, charity, her poverty, her overwhelming pain at witnessing Christ tortured, humiliated and crucified, and her deep reverence towards her Divine Son and her acceptance of the Will of almighty God. I feel I know Mary so much more fully as a three dimensional person - it's as if I've known her all my life. Mary shows us how to live a holy life that completely conforms to the Will of Almighty God.Since certain sections of the Protestant community have a different view of Mary, they might like to read this book to get a better understanding of why The Virgin Mary is so revered and honoured within the Catholic Church. I hasten to add that Mary is NOT WORSHIPPED by Catholics as some falsely claim, as worship is restricted only to The Holy Trinity. To those purchasing this book, I suggest they start reading from the chapter titled "St. Ann And St. Joachim", as the first part of the book discusses in quite some detail the pros and cons of Private Revelations which, though interesting in itself, somehow detracts very slightly from the main purpose of the book. I would therefore suggest reading the first part only after reading the rest. The price of this book is only £0.99 on Kindle. What an absolute BARGAIN!

A really excellent insight into the life of Our Blessed LadyIf you wish to learn more about the early and later stages of the life of Mary(as well as St Joseph and the early life and later public ministry of Our Lord),then this book contains vivid accounts of the above from devout mystics such as Anne Catherine Emmerich. It is a fascinating read. One grows closer to the heart of Mary, whose life was one of obedience to God, holy service to Jesus and her community, whilst keeping in her heart the knowledge of the suffering and sacrifice that Jesus was to make. Would highly recommend reading these descriptive and moving mystical accounts of the life of Mary.

One of my absolute favourite books on the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary
This book reads like a novel and it’s so beautifully written that over the years. I have given it as gifts several times. It really expresses well The life of the Blessed Virgin Mary and is not a particularly wordy or long book and therefore, should keep even the most secular reader’s interest. Highly recommend.

Magnificent book!
I have tried to read some of the books that this book is compiled from, but they are very long, detailed, and difficult to read. This book condenses it all into a very easy read. You can just feel the humility and love that emanates from the Mother of our Savior and also from His foster father St. Joseph. This book answers many questions that you may have because these details are left out of the Bible. Highly recommend!!

Everyone should read this!
I bought this after someone told me that the original Mary of Agreda book was a little long and heavy. I thought that this might be easier to read. It truly is incredible and sheds such wonderful light on Mary's life for believers

Book
I could not put this book down. Read the whole book same day it arrived. Very beautiful in describing the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her life starting as a young child, the pains She went through traveling to Bethlehem, then to Egypt, the Child Jesus lost in the temple, the passion and death of our Lord Jesus. A truly remarkable book. A book I would definitely recommend buying.
