A friend tells me he heard these won't accept standard/common 1/4" hex (drive) bits... is this so?

Hi and thank you for your question. Yes this correct. The SpeedE II is intended for use with only insulated blades. Theses are on 6mm stock so 1/4" will not work with this. The biggest reason for this is if it did accept 1/4" bits and bit holders alike it would defeat the point of the tool being insulated and would not pass the requirements of being an insulated tool.

Are the bits slimline ? Need to terminate and sometimes only the slim ones fit

Yes the bits are a smaller size than normal hex 1/4 bits.

Does it include multiple tips or just the Phillips?
