I have used these exact Chicago screws on several holster and knife sheath builds. They have been used with both .080" and .060" Kydex, and put through some heavy abuse with holster applications, as well as magazine pouches. They remain tight once set without the need for thread locker, the rubber washers have held up to the elements well and I have even attempted to over tighten the screws to see if they would break such as the screws that were supplied from a very large holster/tactical gear manufacturer. The only issue I have noticed, that in no way hinders the performance of these screws, is the black finish is prone to wear and seems to wear easily. However, I have used hundreds of these Chicago screws with zero malfunctions/breaking. The addition of the slotted back makes it very easy to tighten these screws to the required torque unlike those that do not have a slotted back. The phillips head on the top/front of the screw fits a standard #2 phillips driver perfectly and prevents slipping and rounding of the screw head.

The post screws arrived promptly in a neat package and were exactly what I was looking for. They came in a pack of ten with good quality rubber o-rings as pictured. I personally used them as retention adjustment screws as well as clip fastening screws for my DIY kydex holster project using .080" thickness kydex. The screws cleared that thickness of kydex wonderfully and I could see them doing fine with thicker variants of kydex as well. For my retention screw I used 3 of the included o-rings for spacing as I molded my holster very tightly and was still able to get the screws together easily. They held together well and did not loosen with usage, though I'll be adding a little loctite in the future just for a little extra peace of mind. I was also extremely happy to hear these are made in the USA as well as is manufactured by a small family run operation.

These screws work perfectly to replace the ones in my kydex holster. Only reason for 4 stars is the description says "flat head," but they are button or pan head screws. No issue for my use, but if you need a flat head (flat on top where the screwdriver goes in, tapered below the head where the head and threads come together), these are not the ones for you.

I have used these to reconnect my hangar rails to aluminum side cases on an adventure motorcycle. These not only support the weight fully packed, but haven't failed when the side case hits the dirt. I simply drill out the OEM rivets that tend to fail, bend things back in place, and install these with some thread locker. I trust them enough to pack a few extras, but I've never replaced any.

Not using these for holsters or leather/kydex - have a woodworking project where I'm attaching aluminum stock for purpose of hanging files. Needed a solution that was exact in size, black with nice finish, and not an eye sore like normal nuts/bolts/caps. These do have a nice uniform finish and low head thickness. The length of both the screw and nut are exactly 1/2" if you measure from underneath the head to the end. Because the screw can go 'through' the nut, you can tighten in addition to the half inch. I'm using a 13/64" drill bit that fits the female side perfectly with no gap. The washers are rubber and a little over 1/16" - that's not an exact measurement. They're pretty soft and squish and move if you over tighten.
