How do I measure?** A: Measure from back to front using the inside measurement. A round toilet is usually 12 in. back to front and 11 in. side to side. Use the round hinged toilet seat. If the measurement is 14 in. back to front and 11 in. side to side it is the elongated type. I have one of each. **Q: Does the regular toliet seat sit on top of this?** A: Beware. Your toilet seat attaches to the riser with the bolts included with the riser. If your toilet seat has the quick release for removing the seat for cleaning, the bolts included may not work. They didn't on mine. I had to buy a new seat without the quick release. These aren't easy to find anymore. **Q: I have an elongated toilet.
