Birthday Gift
This was a gift for my 10 year old Granddaughter. She has only just started reading it and is enjoying it very much.

He has a lot of good books.
He thinks he has mean parents and wants to trade them in. It is a funny book

Poor and sloppy
This book is so poorly written with such ridiculously complicated names in it and odd story line. It just wasn't very funny and surprisingly for a children's book it actually had a swear word in it. Sloppy and proof that not everyone can make the transition to author. I certainly won't be buying anymore of Dabid Baddiel's books for my kids.I'm amending this review and have marked it down a star as I've remembered some additional things that I disliked - complicated and repeated references to gambling and a fixation on James Bond, which are films I personally love, but require knowledge the demographic of this book wouldn't necessarily have. My 8 year old son tried to read the book to himself but he had so many questions around name pronunciation and the random references to things, I'm now having to read it to him in a stop start way as we unpack the different ideas. Be glad when it's finished

My 9 year old loved it.
I was surprised when my kid chose this book among the pile I’d bought for lockdown reading as it was the thickest of all the books but they said it sounded the most interesting. It held their attention and they were happy to read everyday. I was told that this was the best book they had read in ages. It was funny and easy to read. I look forward to reading more from the author.
