Black Truffle Dust - Umami Seasoning - Gourmet Condiments - 65g

The intense truffle flavour is notable and surprising. I did wonder if this powder might be just a hint of truffle flavour. I was wrong, it has a strong flavour of truffles. I've added to a bolognese I made recently, I'd added chestnut mushrooms to my own recipe. Decided to add this truffle dust, only need a little, like when you add pepper to a dish. It enhanced the bolognese. I've also used for my mushroom omelette I made, just a sprinkle on top of the omelette whilst it cooked. The flavour was notable with just a little sprinkling. Great for those lovers of mushrooms out there. Pricy product, but it should last ages. As we know, truffles are expensive and rare to find. Need to get a pig...venture out into wood myself. Shhhhh.

Delicious!!! You only need a small light dusting. Fabulous on fries with grated parmesan.

Lovely taste great accompaniment to most savoury dishes would recommend.

If you like truffle this is a great choice as it has a STRONG truffle smell, had to contain it to a tupperware to stop the whole cupboard smelling of truffle! Recipient said the taste was good. When I asked the seller if this product contained MSG (recipient has a sensitivity to it) they responded promptly to tell me it was MSG free which allowed me to order straight away. It is tricky to find nice savoury seasonings without this additive, so my truffle loving recipient was thrilled. As with other truffle products from this brand, the packaging is beautiful and this made an excellent gift. Looks more expensive than it is. Thrilled once again with this company!

I have tried lots of truffle powders/salts over the past few years & like many people am pretty addicted to the stuff. I generally prefer them to infused oils, which I find always taste 'off' after being open even for a short while. The best I have tasted was one I brought back from a holiday in Italy, bought from an independent producer with a small shop in San Gimignano. Others I have tried include those bought through Italian food importers here in the UK and some ordered online directly from Italy, plus others on Amazon. This TruffleHunter Black Truffle Dust has a reasonably intense flavour but doesn't really taste of truffle. It's true that even the decent ones rarely contain more than 5% actual truffle content, usually less than 3%, but this one has a rather strange, almost chemical taste. Whether this comes from the Carob & mushroom powder I don't know. Most will inevitably be predominantly salt (fine or coarse) & mushroom, carob powder plus other bulking ingredients. This one is actually more similar to 'Sabatino Tartufi Truffle Zest Seasoning, The Original' than some more salty versions I have tried, and actually more intense in flavour, however for me has a slightly odd taste & is not as nice. For reference, I should probably add that the Sabatino Original Zest is also not great but does have a slightly more pleasant flavour than this one. Neither though, are as good as others I have tried from Italy. Sadly, I'm yet to find one that that hits the spot & is easily sourced from the UK.

Use mine mainly for truffle risotto (1 tsp for one pan of risotto/ 4 portions). Makes it so earthy and savoury and delicious. Truffle hunter is a quality brand and provides excellent products for a fair value. Any and all of their sauces and condiments are excellent. I’ve tried the oil, mustard, honey, salt, and of course, the dust. This truffle dust is nice on chicken, on eggs, in pasta dishes with tomato, cream, or pesto sauces, etc. Most savoury dishes can be enhanced with a sprinkle of this magical dust. Tip- don’t sprinkle directly over your cooking dishes as it is prone to absorbing steam/ moisture which will make it clump and cake and reduce its shelf life. Put it on a spoon before adding to your hot and steamy foods. Even though it’s in a jar, I also store the jar in a plastic bag to keep it as dry and fresh as possible.

If you love the flavour of truffle, this is one to have just a sprinkle over poached egg scrambled egg or anything you fancy but the flavour is good, great value for money and more last a long time.

Produit excellent un savant mélange au goût prononcé de la truffe noire. Rien a redire. Saupoudrez votre poudre de truffe, le condiment parfait pour ajouter du "luxe" sur n'importe quel plat. Utilisez-la sur de la viande, du poisson, des légumes, les oeufs au plat, omelette, à la coque, sur du fromage, pour accompagner les pâtes, dans une chantilly salée ou sucrée, dans vos desserts, glaces maison et même dans votre café. Une fois que vous aurez goûter, vous ne pourrez plus vous en passer. Son parfum vous enivre ça devient une addiction 😁. Je recommande très bon produit à prix abordable pour créer une expérience incroyable.
