Kudos for the Philosophy & Opinions of !arcs Garvey
This book in a lot of ways is better than a biography. Being able to read the thoughts, opinions and speeches of Marcus Garvey was both reflective and affirming. I like being able to form my own opinion of this influential man almost like sitting down and interviewing him myself. From these speeches and excerpt a we can deduce the essence of who he was as a leader and a visionary of a movement. I recommend this book for anyone who doesn't know much about Garvey. It's a good companion to take on a plane ride or a ride on a train. I recommend this book for history teachers to the conversation going in a class about some of his ideas about race and equality.

Garvey is one of the greatest men of all time. This book of his philosophy has lessons for almost all parts of life. A must own for any black household...let our children recite these passages as scripture

Cornerstone knowledge.... now it makes sense.
This book truly made everything make sense.... after my studies of African American history...this amazing book brought all the truth together. Marcus Garvey has become my hero.... I'd recommend anyone who's of African descent in America to read his writings now...."Over 100 years later... time has proven Marcus Garveys theories and philosophies to be BEST and right!"Reading this gave me the energy he spoke of feeling in this book...PRIDE!

Historical must read!
Most people have very wrong impression of this historical character. Read his philosophy as an adult, without the comentary from anglo-biased created history books we all read in public schools, then form your opinions about racial conditions in America and the world today. You might be surprised how much ahead of his time Mr. Garvey proceeded.

Garvey is reading for those hungry for a word
You're gonna get a capitalist and pan-African hero's perspective on all things he saw in the world of 1920's America, while hailing from Jamaica. Humble thyself and learn from Marcus Mosiah Garvey, a great liberator of the human condition and particularly that of the plight of black people. Africa for Africans the man say. I say a blessed life and legacy he left all peoples. Give Thanks.

Timeless
Words still resonate to this day. A lot of what he spoke on can be applied in current life. Great read

I highly recommend this book
Although the delivery packaging arrived open and tampered with, the book was a very interesting read and I'm very happy with my decision to purchase it. I would definitely recommend for others to read it also.

A must read for all black peoples of the world.
If there wasn't a Marcus Garvey there wouldn't have been a Malcolm X or a Martin Luther King Jr. As a matter of fact, the foundation of the civil rights movement rest to a large extent on his shoulders. I wish that the first black president had done what he could in giving him a pardon and free his name sine the USA government through the FBI brought reproach on his reputation.
