Smooth, Calming, and Full of FlavorโMy New Go-To Sencha
Iโve been drinking the Chaganju Sencha Green Tea for a couple of weeks now, and itโs quickly become part of my daily routine. As soon as I opened the bag, I could tell it was high qualityโthe leaves have that fresh, grassy scent thatโs so distinct to good Japanese green tea. I brew it gently, and the result is this beautiful, clear green cup with a naturally sweet, slightly vegetal flavor. Itโs smooth, not bitter at all, and doesnโt leave any weird aftertaste. If anything, it has a really clean finish that makes me want to sip slowly and savor it. What I love most is how calming it is. Iโve started swapping this in for my afternoon coffee, and I get just enough of a lift to stay focused without any of the jitteriness or crash later. Itโs like a mental reset in a mugโlight, refreshing, and grounding. The tea itself is super consistent. Iโve been re-steeping the leaves and still get a solid second brew without losing flavor. Thereโs something really peaceful about watching the leaves open up in the pot, especially if youโve got a glass teapot. Honestly, this tea has brought a little ritual into my day that I didnโt even realize I needed. Itโs simple, clean, and just really enjoyable. Definitely planning to keep it stocked.

My fav green tea
Lovely Tea. Flavorful yet light. Mild in terms of Caffeine affect. If matcha is too intense for you, but you want the health benefits of green tea , this is a good option.

Authentic Japanese Green Tea - A Pure, Refreshing Experience !
I recently had the pleasure of trying authentic green tea from Japan, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I opened the package, I was greeted by a fresh, grassy aroma that instantly transported me to the serene tea fields of Japan. The flavor is exceptionally smooth and well-balancedโnaturally sweet with a slight vegetal note and just the right touch of bitterness. Itโs clear that this tea was cultivated and processed with care and tradition. The vibrant green color of the brew is another sign of its high quality, especially in varieties like sencha or gyokuro, which are known for their deep umami flavor. What really stood out to me was the calming effect it had. Unlike the jittery buzz of coffee, this green tea provides a gentle energy boost paired with a sense of mindfulnessโperfect for a midday break or a moment of relaxation. If youโre a tea enthusiast or simply looking for a healthier, more refined beverage, I highly recommend trying Japanese green tea. Itโs more than just a drinkโitโs a cultural experience in a cup.

Good tea
Sure, it is not as 'green' once brewed as other teas, but it does have a slight grass taste and clear color. The leaves bloom up in the water, so you know it is fresh stuff. Would buy again.

Earthy and Heartwarming
I'm still very young in my tea journey, so please don't expect the review of a connoisseur. Most teas green or otherwise that I've tried recommend 1 instead of 2 teaspoons of dry tea to 7oz of water, I followed the package directions which just suggested 2 teaspoons, and my hot water device is limited to 8oz. Steeped at 75C. The smell is unlike other green teas I've had, as far as loose leaf, the only other green tea I've tried is Vahdam's Himalayan Green. This tea has a much stronger flavor than Vahdam. When it hits my tongue I'd say the first flavor that I get is more of an earthy "mushroom" flavor, with a mild tea flavor in the background that fades into a little astringency and tea bitterness. (3min might be to long for a first steep.) There's definitely a plantlike flavor that cuts across the middle, but I definitely wouldn't call this "grassy." I would say there's a definite hint of "seaweed" in the mix. It reminds me of some of the teas I've had in Good sushi restaraunts, though my strainer is clearly not good enough as my brew looks more cloudy than what's represented in some of the pictures I've seen of this tea. The particles are light enough NOT to settle during the drinking of a single cup, it doesn't bother me at all. A second steep at 2min this time provides a flavorful green tea, less pronounced on the earthy/astringent/seaweed notes I described in the first steep (done for 3min). I wish this were a little less expensive, this is probably one of my favorite green teas I've tried, and while I still admit that I'm new to loose leaf, there's something about Japanese green teas overall that has a character unlike any other geographical region I've tried. This would definitely be a daily staple, this is something that on a cold rainy day I'd want to brew and sit down with a nice bowl of miso by a fire. Genuinely a great tea.

Expensive but SO worth it!
This is the best green tea I have ever had. I wanted to get healthier and get away from my coffee drinks. Green tea has fantastic benefits such as antioxidants in it. I chose this from a tik tok video initially for weight loss. This green tea is organic watch makes it safer than other options. It is full flavor. I hate watery drinks. I can use two tablespoons in a teabag and brew with honey then pour over ice to make 20 ounces. I leave the tea bag in my drink all day and once my drink is gone, I fill the whole cup again and it is not quite as strong but still during enough I like it. I was so impressed with this tea and it made me feel so good each day. I was energized without the crash coffee gives. I use raw unfiltered honey in it. The smell is strong. The size of bag is a bit small in my opinion for $50 but I've been so impressed with it that I will still buy it. So I guess that makes it a good value for your money to me. I hope Amazon continues to sell this and I can drink it every day. It is my happy place.

Makes an absolutely delicious pot of green tea!
I bought Chaganju Sencha Green Tea Loose Leaf, JAS Certified Organic Japanese Tea from Uji, Kyoto, 80g Bag, Sencha Tea, Loose Leaf for its health benefits and flavor. I just like green tea. This loose leaf green tea is SO much better than from bags. The flavor is much cleaner than tea brewed with tea bags. This brand is light with an almost hint of "green" (grassy flavor). Color is a pale yellow-green when properly brewed. My method is to boil cold water, rinse the cast iron teapot with the hot water and let it rest until the water in the kettle drops below 185ยฐ (F), empty the teapot and pour the water over a basket with 2 teaspoons of leaves. Let brew for 2 minutes then enjoy. Makes an absolutely delicious pot of green tea!

Experience Tea Drinker- Had High Hopes
I will start by noting that I am an experienced loose leaf tea drinker. I have tried teas from all over the world and visited specialty tea shops in Kyoto. Japanese greens are my favorite. I had very high hopes for this sencha considering the JAS certification and place of origin. It fell short for me. Perhaps I received an older bag. The flavor was barely present and re-steeping was not an option. I adjusted water temperatures by a few degrees, as well as steep time. However, it lacks the beautiful notes of sencha. The leaves themselves were very small pieces, rather than what is pictures on the item's listing. I wonder if this is a lower quality or leftovers from manufacturing. That being said, it is a decent tea for those that are new to green tea or prefer a very mild flavor.
