Sturdy, good quality shelving.
I bought two sets of these in Mid 2021, when they cost only £28 each. The best compliment I can give them: they're now £50 - but still worth the price. These shelves are solid, great quality. I would say they're designed to be used in a garage/workshop/shed but I've got them indoors, working as bookshelves. I'm not talking a few paperbacks here; these are packed with large, hardback, reference books and they take the weight no problem. The finish isn't fancy but they don't look out of place; depends on your decor I suppose. I'm absolutely delighted with them and would buy them again with no hesitation, even at the new, post-covid price. The instructions aren't great, pretty poor in fact, but a wee bit of logic and they go together fine, although I would suggest it's a two-person job. As you build them, they get a wee bit heavy but very ungainly. A second pair of hands, even just to support one end, will be a great help.As for tools, you 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 need a mallet - a hammer will chip the paint. Other than that, a pair of pliers will help to fold the metal tabs over but no other tools are really necesary. Can't think of any problems with them; I'd recommend thee to anyone. As for strength; I can't really think of anything, that would fit on the shelves, that would be too heavy - they're solid!! 5 stars all the way, unless you want to deduct half a point for the poor instructions.😁

Nice Shelving Unit
The unit was fairly easy to assemble. The only issue I had was with lining up the two tabs into the slots. On occasion one would go in okay but the other would miss it's companion slot. That said: I am happy with the shelving now that I have it assembled and it is just what I wanted. It is good value for the money.

Hidden Instructions
Never found the assembly instructions until fitting the shelves. They were in-between two of them. However the item is good.

No Space? Invest In This.
The media could not be loaded. I bought two of these shelving units for extra storage because I’m very short on space and have no storage cupboard anywhere in the house. Had everything jammed into kitchen drawers and very hard to access anything. It was quite a bit fiddly to put together but is possible to make by yourself even though I had my sister helping me to hold together while assembling it.Learnt the hard way by making the first one without knowing where to start. Wizzed through the second one though. My advise to anyone assembling this; be ready with a screwdriver and a hammer. Screwdriver was the most important to me because I used it to open up the little slots where required so it’s easier to slip the notches into them. Otherwise you’ll have a time of it trying to stick them together. (My biggest mistake during assembling the first one, not using the screwdriver straight away. Lots of sore fingers to attest to this). Very nice to look at even though it’s out in the open with all my things in show.

Gloves recommended and a handy tip
I've previously had the Songmics shelving similar to this but would say that one WAS sturdy.Firstly, I don't have any gloves but be careful as the metal edges and tops of support may cut if no hand protection. I got several nics on my fingers and palm.As I'd previously made one which goes together exactly the same as the Songmics one I knew what to expect and was able to build faster. One tip I would suggest is build the shelving in two halves then slot over the four corners. This is because following the instructions means you connect two side bars on top without support either side on the flimsy adaptors. Mine fell off trying to keep it upright to slot the bars to it.I then just made each half desperately and managed to slot it over the bottom half. It is easier with two people but I managed myself. This may help or may not. The metal is quite soft.I have another one on the way so will go together faster using the method I used.Oh and it's not as sturdy as stated. Moving it is likely to dislodge each joint and it's very rickety requiring you to realign the structure.

Love this shelving unit
With a budding chef in the house needed extra storage and this does the job. It's easy to assemble and sturdy once in place. Would definitely recommend but once in place, I wouldn't move it
