Such a heartwarming read ❤️
I’ve been following Louise Pentland for years now on both here and my personal account. I’m so ashamed to say I haven’t read the Wilde series yet although they are sitting high up on my wishlist! But when I saw Mum Life was available to preorder last month I was straight on it! I started reading it the day after it landed on my doorstep and devoured it in a couple of days. It’s been ages since I’ve read a memoir, and this one sounded just right for me, plus Louise’s videos always put a smile on my face so I knew I’d love it.Although the title Mum Life might make you think it’s another ‘mum book’ telling the do’s and don’t’s of motherhood, this book isn’t that. It’s Louise’s own personal motherhood journey, both as a single mother of one and a gorgeous little family of four, and the experiences that have made her the woman and mother she is today. As expected, I smiled to myself on numerous occasions whilst reading this, however I had tears that I just didn’t expect. Louise shares a part of her own childhood that must have been so hard to put into words and out into the world. It broke my heart. As well as sharing her heartfelt story, the lovely Louise is donating 100% of her royalties from this book to the NSPCC, how incredible is that?! Just one of the many reasons I recommend you going to pick this one up.Thank you Louise for such a gorgeous heart warming read. This book is something so special. It will make you smile, cry, laugh, and want a cuddle from your mum. ❤️

Great book, lots of funny moments but also very real
I’ve watched Louise’s YouTube Chanel for a few years now and so when she announced that she was releasing this book, I was very interested. She does say that you don’t need to be a mum to enjoy it and I do agree with that, but I think that being a mum has helped me relate to it so much more. The flow of the book and how it’s been arranged chapter by chapter is just seamless. It’s a very comfortable read (and I’m not a reader at all) I haven’t read a book since my school/uni days, so for me to start and finish this book without 3 days is really saying something!I was really shocked to read about what poor Louise went through as a child. It was very hard to read but also really important to raise awareness and it gives you a warm happy feeling to know how well things have worked out for her, no one deserves happiness more!Reading about her difficult labour with her first daughter really resonated with me as well as it was quite similar to the birth I had with my little boy too.All in all, I was very impressed with this book. I just couldn’t put it down until I had read all of it! Totally recommend! 5 stars!

Emotionally charged, hilarious on times, heartbreaking and hopeful.
How courageous of Louise to put her whole life on paper, to admit to things you sometimes wish you didn’t think and to delve deep into emotions and memories that are painful to relive. Losing her mum at a young age has clearly influenced the way she lives her life and although it must be incredibly painful for her not to have her mum at some of the most important and life changing events of her life, it has shaped her into the lovely, wonderfully courageous and independent women she is. To go through what she has and to put pen to paper for the world to see is amazingly brave. She is kicking butt at being a mummy, bestselling author and boss lady and it’s clear to see why. I devoured this in 5 hours ugly crying and hysterically laughing my way through. The letters to Darcy and Pearl were the perfect ending 💛

Mum life
This was an enjoyable read although I found some of the chapters quite long. Really enjoyed reading this book 😃

Such an easy read, loved the tone throughout
I’ve followed Louise for around 8 years now I think so was very keen to read her memoir on motherhood. I love how straight to the point and Louise has been on her social media platforms over the years, and this book was no different. She writes a ‘warts and all’ tale of her journey to motherhood, and I was so heartbroken and cross when reading about her upbringing. This book was such an easy read that I finished it in 2 evenings! Would recommend this book to anyone who is thinking about becoming a mum, or is a mum already or just wants to read what it’s like to be a mum. Loved this book, wished it was even longer! Well done Louise, your mum would be so proud of everything you have achieved. Keep being you, and keep bossing it!!

Moving in parts but too much waffle
I bought this book as I watch Louise on YouTube and enjoy her videos. She very much writes as she speaks. There were a few chapters - the ones about her childhood and mum in particular- that were genuinely moving and brought a tear to my eye. However I felt the second half of the book was really weak and there were too many chapters of lists etc which just seemed like waffle/filler to me. It felt like she ran out of stuff to say and just waffled on to meet her word count. I feel like I can’t be too critical though as I understand all profits are being donated to the NSPCC, which is admirable.
