My Best Friend's Son's Wedding

Must read
My Best Friend's Son's Wedding by Zarreen Khan is a hilarious, heart warming at times, about friendship, love, belonging, loss of a loved one, family drama and high class socialite drama. The story is narrated by Kittu, who is best friends with The Minty Sood, technically the daughter-in-law of the Sood Family but have always been their adopted daughter after her husband Sunny Sood passed away after 3 months of their marriage.Minty Sood has always spent her life behind raising her only son Parthav Sood, and kept him away from the page 3 drama that happens around Delhi. She has recently turned Forty but things don't look that way with her life and she looking very younger than her actual age. She was recently proposed by Puneet Bhalla, and was happy to accept his proposal and move ahead in life. But before she could share this news with her son and the family, her son Parthav told her he is proposing her 1 year old love Pooja and is ready to settle with her in Mumbai. This leaves MInty thinking about her son's life and In-Laws about her image so she postpones her wedding with Puneet and focuses her energy on making Parthav's wedding a huge success. Now, I really liked the friendship component between Kittu and Minty, and also their third friend Ashra. They have been friends since college times. I was at times annoyed with how controlling Kittu was with Minty's life and persuading her to make life decisions the way she wanted it, but I guess this was the nature of this character, and I am glad eventually everything with Kittu settles down with her thoughts are out spoken by Ashra. The support Prathav has shown to her mother is also beautiful and very flawless. I liked how supportive Minty's In-Laws have been of her and helped her figure out and move on in life. But yet she will always been The Minty Sood, because that's just who she is. There's a lot more to this book and I want you all to pick this up right now.The writing style is flawless as usual. I have author's first book too but haven't read it yet. And now since I have read this one I cannot wait to pick that up too. I am sure it is also going to be witty and hilarious just like this one.

AN ENTERTAINING TALE!
Don't we all get excited when the topic of someone's wedding comes up and if the person in the frame is our best friend we go crazy. Why we won't, it's our bestie's wedding, after all, we all have so many plans like what we will wear in which event, how we will pose for the snapshots and the songs on which we will perform and whatnot. Now, what if I tell you that you have to plan not only for your best friend's wedding but for your best friend's son's wedding also?Sounds super crazy?Well, that's exactly happened with Kriti Vasani or our narrator Kittu.'My Best Friend's son's wedding' is the story of Kittu's best friend, forty-two years old Mrinal Sood aka Minty, the widow of Sunny Sood, daughter-in-law of Soods- Soods of hospitality, a known face in Delhi's elite society. Everything was going smoothly in her high profile life till the day her 22-year-old son decided to get married. And as if this was not enough, Minty got a marriage proposal from Puneet Bhalla(with whom she runs a shelter home) and guess what, she accepted it.Now Minty has to switch gears from being a bride-to-be to mother-in-law-to-be.All this sounds weird but but but the story does not end here, it has more craziness to witness. Our narrator kittu has done a terrific job, she has narrated her best friend's story in a very juicy and spicy way which will make you go roll on the floor with laughter. All the characters are well sketched but Kittu becomes my favourite, the way she cared for Minty and helped her in taking all the important decisions, she stood with Minty in her thick and thin. And other than her, all characters are relatable. The story no doubts is an entertaining one and will keep you hooked but the climax disappointed me. I think the author was in some hurry to end the book as the story takes too many jumps in the end.Overall, this one time read narrated in a very juicy manner way by Kittu will surely entertain you.

Fun-filled Reading Experience!
Weddings mostly call for huge functions and they definitely do if it's a big fat Indian Wedding! Isn't it fun attending one? And what if it's the Wedding of Your Closest Friend? Seems Exciting? So is Kittu as she prepares for the Wedding of Her Childhood Best Friend Minty Sood. But here's the twist, Not more than a day since Minty accepts Puneet's marriage proposal, does she get to know that her 21-year old son Parthav is all set to get married to his Girlfriend, Pooja.Kittu takes us through Minty's Journey from being Bride-To-Be to being Mother-in-Law-To-Be, as she juggles through roles and responsibilities. The quirky incidents are both Funny and Relatable. There is a variety of interesting characters which makes the book equally fascinating. But not once does the presence of a plethora of characters becomes a nuisance. The author has beautifully woven all of them into a striking plot. The story is quite engaging what with a series of bizarre events which make us laugh at times. The ending of the book seemed to have been rushed a bit, but it didn't ruin the entire reading experience. The book has all the elements which make it into a Delightful and Enjoyable Read. This was my first time reading a book by Zarreen Khan and I surely intend to read more of her books.Recommended for People Looking for a Fun-filled Reading Experience.

But the biggest draw is how she etches out her characters - they all come fully alive and seem to be sitting with you while you read about their ups and downs and all the hilarious adventures they go through.
