Summit SUM-004 roof rails for cars with rails, aluminium lockable set 2-1.2 m, silver

Purchased these for a Vauxhall Astra. They are not vehicle specific so needed to be set up but simple enough. They fit very easily and quickly and I am happy they fit securely. They do the job well & very sensibly priced.

DO NOT BUY. Bought this for my sisters birthday in Nov for her kayaks. Winter months so she obviously wasnt out on the water but the Weather is good now so took it out to assemble and VERY BADLY made ...pictures attached. One long carrier leg is shorter than the others so it cannot be assembled. Absolute Waste. All other parts are fine and cut to correct size so maybe manufacturing error??? It looks like it would of been a good product if all items were made as they were meant to. Such a pity and waste of money Would request if the seller sees this they offer to send out the correct 1 x long carrier as alot of money was spent on this and it wouldn't be fair to expect me to give a good recommendation for what I have received to date. These things have been used on a few trips now from 1.5 hour trips to 6 hour + trips. When used without a roof box (if you're lazy like me), under 60 mph, there are no issues, over 60 you're going to have fairly loud whistling. With a roof box, you can hit 70 mph and have very little whistling but its still there for sure. They are for sure solid enough and look decent but the quality is lacking somewhat when it comes to the locking mechanism. There is nothing wrong with the lock itself, but the actual lock block itself does wriggle free. Its never fell out completely, just it does come away with ease. (Black end part of the bar). Also, putting in the rubber is a real pain... would have been good if this was already pre built into the bars. Overall, for the money I paid, I'm happy! no need to spend £££ on branded stuff.

I needed a set of roof bars to fit a Kia Sportage which has flush side rails on the roof, and chose this set as they seemed to offer a balance between cost and quality, as well as having some recommendations online. They proved to be easy to set up and with a few careful marks on the rails using a permanent marker I have been able to fit and remove them whenever needed. They are good quality and strongly made, and they stay safely in place even when loaded. The only negative point I’ve found is that the locks are more for show than real security, as even though they’re key-operated it doesn’t take much effort with the right tools to prise off the plastic endcaps which the locks are fixed to. I was aware of this before ordering them, and as that’s not an issue for me it wasn’t a big deal. However, I wouldn’t leave them unattended if there was a valuable load on top.

As with other reviews, the locking ends are absolutely useless, 1 of the 4 was not even able to push completely in with the little metal bars and had to leave them out (bars too long). The bars should not be advertised as locking, and really should be used as a visual deterrent to anyone wanting to steal them, They do fit the car fine, the clamps are made of steel so I was concerned they would damage the rails on the car and as its a Motability car and is due to be replaced soon I didn't want that. I used some stick on padding tape to protect the clamped area and its worked fine. Probably overpriced considering the locks, the lock itself does not appear to be able to even catch on anything at all so I don't even know how it would work.

Brought these for my 2012 Zafira C and despite some of the reviews they’re decent. I thought the keys/locks didn’t work at first but they’re just stuff. You have to slide a rubber strip in the underside of the bar which is slightly tricky. Other than that they were great. Made sure they were lined up straight. No issues. Managed a long trip with a large roof box.

Product ok, hard to open but it doesn't fit properly in a Ford Galaxy 2010-2015 as I bought for it. I will use anyway but I will have to strap inside of the car when I load something

Super rapport qualité prix, facile à monter, très satisfait

Es muy fácil de montar con un juego de 4 llaves para cerrarlo y una llave allen. Lo instalé en un hyndai ix35 perfectamente.
