How much track is included with the locomotive?

Locomotive has one tender. Tender size: 6.3*3.5*4.5in

Is anyone else have issues getting it to move? When assembled, the gears seem to move fine but when I wind it up, it doesn't unwind.

You need to make sure all gears and wheels spin freely. It takes quite a few adjustments and you may have to trim some of the toothpicks to get them to move. Take out the gear that connects to rubber drive and make sure train can move with inertia alone. Also don't forget about lubricating the areas that touch.

Can you make homemade track for it?

I suppose you could. Or, check out the railway crossing model which has extra track. If you need more, you can use them as a guide for making your own. Search Amazon for: UGEARS Model "Rails" 3D wooden puzzle
