Excellent book, just right for children studying the lives of the painters.

Nice photos, simple and big text.

There is some really good information about van Gogh in this book, but I feel that the joking aspects and snide remarks could have been left out. Unfortunately, Vincent had a rough life and a battle with mental illness. I feel this book almost makes light of it and that does not help teach children empathy and understanding.

I ordered this book as a resource for an art project to do with my 7 year old Grandaughter. I was hoping it would include images of Van Gogh's art that we could try to copy. It was mostly just the a story of his VERY DEPRESSING LIFE. I returned it.
