This thing looked like a great idea to add a bit of extra rod storage to my 16 foot aluminum boat but it's tough to organize spinning reels in the provided slots, and rods don't stay in their slots worth a darn even in calm water. Find a better solution.

I have two of these, and have had one of them on my garage door for about two years and no problems holding 5 big surf outfits (11 -12' rods w Penn 9500 and 850's...heavy rascals). Strong plastic and bungee cord. Good product!

Super handy! I use them along the ceiling in the garage to keep rods out of the way and away from harm. I have an ultralight spinning combo, a light spinning combo and a really really heavy saltwater spinning combo on there. Rods fit with reels and will work with fly fishing setups too. It'll also work horizontally along a wall. I wish I knew about these things years ago.

The quality on this rod rack is good. I like the bungee to help hold the rods in during transport.But for me there is a serious design flaw. The rack comes in the package as a pair. So when i tried to mount them on the side of my boat both handle holes lined up. it's like having 2 of one side. The holes that hold the rod handles are in the same position on both pieces. If that makes sense. Now I could turn one upside down but then the slot to slide the rod tips in would be slanted down. Not sure that would work. I may have to return them. That's a shame, I liked the one piece design.These are better for an overhead mount. Change the design and it could be an overhead or side mount.

Have used these rod holders on board our boat, dock box and garage. Work great hold rods securely.
