I have applied it with my finger and also straight from the tube and in both cases it is sheer but still has a lot of illumination. It's also very very fine particles so the glow is about as natural as you can get. If I were still using powder I WOULD use the highlighter under the powder as it applies so nicely to the skin and it would take a very heavy application of powder to negate the benefits of the highlighter. **Q: I have fair skin and blue eyes, what color should I try?** A: I would use the light one on fair skin. The darker one might look more like bronzer on fair skin. **Q: Is it glittery? My main complaint with highlighters is that out looks like you sprinkled glitter on your face** A: Not glittery at all. Just the right amount of color and shine. Non-drying and helps with diminishing fine lines because of the reflection. This product blends easily and has a small hint of glitter. It has a soft pleasant smell and I have not experienced any skin reaction issues since using this product. Since using it I have had compliments from fellow co-workers on how nice my makeup looks.
