Best budget toner I've tried
I recently went back to bleaching my hair .(best decision I've made since the beginning of the pandemic - I love fun colors, but blonde looks good on me. I also chopped all my hair off, so whether I'm going through a phase or just manic? Who knows.) Point is, I wanted something to make it look nice and ... not yellow. I don't have money to go spend at a salon. It's extremely expensive to get your hair bleached by a professional - I have just enough money to buy box bleach and make questionable decisions. This does the job - for toning that is, does nothing for the questionable decisions - and leaves my hair looking blonde, not bronze. I will say that I do apply it differently than many people might. I have fine, thick hair. And while I did lob it off into a pixie cut thanks to Georgia having the temperatures of the Devil's nether regions, I'd still like to keep what little of it I have looking nice and fresh - not fried. This shampoo isn't exactly moisturizing or softening. It's a shampoo carrying a coloring agent. So.. I treat it as such. Don't be surprised by how dark the color is. I was at first, and only used it in the shower for about 5 minutes. It didn't do much for me. I came out looking much the same. I want to clarify once again, these are the decisions I make in applying this product - this isn't a recommendation. But it sure as hell works for me. 1) Starting with dry hair, I plop this bad bitch on with some gloves on. DON'T FORGET THE GLOVES. It will stain your hands - but not the rest of your body. My biologist mother would probably have something to say about it being the way your hand skin is different from the skin on the rest of your body. Science and I are casual lovers. 2) I leave it on for anywhere from 25-40 minutes. It really depends on if I forget to set the timer or not. I usually forget to set the timer. I'm typing this review while still forgetting to set the timer - yes, I have it on right now, and am continuing to choose writing this instead of rubbing my two braincells together. Don't be like me. 3) Shower time! Rinse it all out. You may notice your hair feels a bit dry - once again, this isn't a moisturizing shampoo. It's less than $20 on amazon, don't get your hopes up. Instead, go in with a moisturizing mask. My hair needs some serious TLC, and the best moisturizer I've found for myself is Shea Moisture's Purple Rice Water Strength & Color Care Masque. I leave that and my skincare mask on for about 5 minutes while i wash my body, shave whatever I feel up to shaving that day, you know the deal. At least I assume it's 5 minutes. You know by now my track record with timers. 4) Rinse that equally bad bitch out. Your hair will feel much much softer. I add this step now for my wonder bread cousins. Our hair can look oily as hell if we just moisturize it - it probably doesn't know how to be treated right because we were raised on 3 in 1 bodywash, shampoo, and conditioner. Forgive it. Be patient with it. Go in with a good quality moisturizing shampoo. I use my Function of Beauty shampoo, and then follow that slight rinse up with my FoB conditioner. I may be gaslighting my hair. It's okay, it looks fine at the end of it all. 5) After letting that conditioner sit for the normal amount of time I let any conditioner sit, which is usually about a minute or two. I then rinse it out til I don't feel sticky. Finish up my shower routine, and at the end I put in my leave in conditioner. It's also a FoB product. I swear by the stuff, but this isn't a review for that. I'm gonna run out soon, and I have enough depression as it is. Lets change the subject. You should have beautifully toned hair! I will remind you not to make any decisions on if you like it or not UNTIL YOUR HAIR FULLY DRIES. Your hair will always look more bronze when it's wet. When my hair dries it's a completely different animal, and thanks to me adding that conditioning routine, it's soft as well. If that sounds like a lot of steps... well, it is. Your hair doesn't work for free. But I promise it doesn't take long. If you think 25-30 minutes in the shower for your FULL hair and body routine is a long time, you may have other issues that need addressing. But hey, I'm not a therapist. At the end of the day, I LOVE this stuff. And it's a gigantic bottle. I mean, about the length of my small dog. I'll get a lot of wear out of this stuff. I don't recommend washing your hair every day, and I don't recommend doing this deep cleanse and tone more than once a week. Wash your body all you want, but let your hair breathe. Dry shampoo is your friend. 5/5 stars for affordability and function. Now let me go set my timer.

Best purple shampoo
This purple shampoo worked really well to lighten and tone my blonde. My hair lifts really brassy, and this shampoo got it to a nice neutral blonde. It does dry out my hair a bit after using it, but if you just follow it with conditioner it's fine. Personally, I apply a generous amount to my blonde sections and leave it for about 5 minutes after using my regular shampoo. It kind of stains my nail beds/cuticles but it goes away if you scrub. In the pic is a side-by-side of my hair without this shampoo, and after 3-4 uses! I would 100% recommend this purple shampoo to anyone looking to tone brassy hair.

This Review Is For People With Paper White Hair That Are Experiencing Yellowing
I just received and used this product once. I am an older retired male and at the beginning of the year started to grown out my hair, in a style, that is more suitable and distinctive for an older male - short on the sides and longer on top. As a result, I had to start using hair product as well. It is my belief that using this hair product began to yellow my hair, specifically in the front area. First, I used a process involving baking soda yesterday. It removed about 70 - 80 percent of the yellowing in one application but it also made my hair dull, which is usually shiny even without hair product. Wanting to nip this in the bud, not over a week or weeks, after the baking soda process, I purchased a clarifying shampoo and this product due to their very high and number of reviews. This morning, after receiving yesterday’s order from Amazon, yes it came that quickly. I did the same process with baking soda. I washed out that mixture with the clarifying shampoo I also purchased from Amazon. I found that these processes essentially removed the yellowing but also left my hair on the dull side of things. Having said all this, I was one step ahead of the game. After removing the yellowing in the steps, I mentioned above, I washed my hair again with this product, Fanola. This product is very very dark purple. The last thing I wanted is purple hair, so the washing and rinsing process was no longer than three minutes. From my experience, the scent was hardly noticeable. The result was, in my opinion, unique and not necessarily what I anticipated but I was even more satisfied than my expectation. It turned my hair a shiny platinum and there does not appear to be any purple hue. Since I like the platinum effect, I will probably use the product one more time tomorrow and only on occasion after that. The experiment is not finished. The hair wax I use to slick back my hair has conditioners, so it is unnecessary to wash my hair again with a conditioner. I do not use a hair dryer. I really don't know what finishing products or processes females use, such as hair sprays, which also probably cause yellowing. This rather lengthy review is not for people with blond or silver hair. It is for people with very white hair and to communicate a result that may or may not occur with other people.

Only taking off 1 star because of constant packaging Leakage and design flaw with bottle lid
First - I love the shampoo. I love the color. I love the effectiveness. I feel like it's a good value even if it's a little higher in price range but the outcome is worth it, no doubt. Hair dryness is absolutely an undesirable factor and outcome, so that happens and people need to anticipate that. This is not meant to be your daily shampoo. But no single shampoo is meant to be your everyday, constant shampoo. Fanola No Yellow is hands down my only product for removing any brassiness and maintaining highlights well beyond their due date. That being said - PLEASE UPDATE THE BOTTLE CAP DESIGN!! For the love of all that's good in this world - change it to something like a Partial Lid Flip Top or at minimum start using a hygiene seal under the cap, or a combination of both of these changes. None of us care if our bottle lid is purple or pretty. We care if our shipping box arrives and is soaked in violet liquid. We care more if our other products in that same box are also covered in dark violet liquid. And even more if that dark violet liquid seeps onto our white countertops because our unsuspecting family members put the soaked boxes on the counter spaces not realizing these shampoo bottles have once again leaked even beyond the plastic wrap they're in. This same design flaw also makes pressure leakage happen during use in showers. Just change the bottle cap, please.

Good product that does what it say's it will do!
This product worked for me! It zaps the brassiness right out of the hair while making your blond brighter and not yellow! It inly takes a small amount to do the job!

GIRL. You NEED this in your life.
I have naturally almost black, thick, Asian hair that is highly processed and toned to high heaven just so I can be blonde. Not just sandy blonde. Platinum blonde. Now, any “bottle blonde” knows that purple shampoo is the sweet baby Jesus in a manger necessity that they MUST use if they don’t want to end up looking like a wannabe ginger with greasy orange-tinged hair. It’s just that blonde life. I have tried almost every purple shampoo under the sun, ranging in process from $7 to $70 a bottle. The top contenders so far have been Davines Alchemic Shampoo in Silver, L’Oréal Shimmering Lights Purple Shampoo, and now, THIS. Fanola takes the cake and is hands down the winner when it comes to toning even the most stubborn brass out. Seriously. Your granny needs this. You need this. GIRL. Go buy stock in this company. The pictures really do speak for themselves. My package arrived sealed tightly - no mess at all. I think they caught on that they needed to fix the shipping method and it seems to have worked. I opted for the smaller $10 bottle, which is a steal! You get SOOOO much product! The shampoo itself is the darkest (almost black) purple I’ve ever seen. The consistency is a little more runny than say, Herbal Essences Shampoo. The smell is a little weird. Part chemical/black licorice being masked by a pleasant salon fragrance. It’s certainly nothing unbearable and it goes away as soon as you wash with your own shampoo. I’ve smelled way worse purple shampoos. This is pretty good. Now, the instructions and most people will tell you to wash with it and leave it for 1-5 minutes. I don’t believe in following rules. Duh. I tried it in the shower on wet hair and left it on for about 10 minutes. Great results after just one use! And then, because I love a little lavender tint, I tried it on DRY hair, saturating it until almost black, and left it on for a whopping 30 minutes. Rinse until clear. And guess what? I LOVE IT. The lavender is not at all over powering but there’s isn’t a hint of yellow/brass in my hair. I swear it even lightened my roots too! The pros: 1) Will definitely 100% work for you. 2) Absolutely does what it says and does it well. 3) Worth every penny (you get a ton of product). 4) You can choose the strength/umph. The Cons: 1) It WILL stain your hands. No really. Wear some gloves. Your welcome. It won’t really stain your forehead, ears, or anything. The skin cells on the palms of your hands are similar to those in your hair and unlike the rest on your body. So, don’t worry about anything else other than your palms/nails. Glove it up! 2) It is rather drying, as most purple shampoos are. Get a good leave in conditioner and glop it on after you rinse in the shower. Put some coconut oil up in there. Moroccan Oil Hair Mask seems to work wonders for me. 3) You will become addicted to having white/super bright blonde hair. Photos in order: After, during, before, before, before, the very first time I used Fanola for just 10 minutes.

Blonde Friend
This stuff is awesome. It stains everything - you've been warned. Watch your tile, bath cloths - all of it. It will come out - but preventative is the best way to manage it. It will stain your scalp lt. purple, as well. Wipe your forehead and ear hairline with a washcloth to mitigate this. I use it every other shampoo. It really manages that brassy nonsense that happens to blondes. Careful - too much will turn you grayish / purplish. Not a good look. I also find it to be a bit heavy for a shampoo - I only get about 1 day and then I need dry shampoo. Just heavy - not greasy? But heavy. Anyway - if they had a lighter formula it would be amazing. This is a blonde's best friend. Don't over do it!

Super great! Works well
This works super well. Do not have to let it sit on your hair for long. I probably only keep it in for a minute or two and always see results. I don’t use it each wash because it works so well. I don’t want to end up with silver hair lol. It will stain so be careful when using it. Great product that I will be buying again
