brilliant, tasty, easy way to have low carb hummus that indeed tastes like hummus!
I bought these to make hummus, and hummus I did make! WOW--game changer. It tastes like regular hummus. Not "good for a hummus", but like, no one would know it wasn't made with garbanzo beans. Texture, weight, overall flavor is the same. Or at least nearly so. I didnt follow a recipe-- just sort of winged it, and it all turned out well. It says to cook on stove, but I just poured kettle boiled water over about a half cup of these flakes, covered, and let sit for a bit. Then not sure whether to leave some water or not, I kept a little of the water and added the moistened flakes to my ninja single cup blender. It was looking like hummus! Then I added some delicious tahini , salt, and fresh ground black pepper. Blended again. Taste? WOW, I could not tell difference between using lupini and using garbanzo. Add other flavors if so desired. I had tried the flakes dry and wet, plain. They have an ever so gentle bitter taste-- in a good way. I found that this flavor would work great in making a hummus, and sure enough it worked well (I omitted my usual squeeze of lemon). Since I had kept a little of the water, my hummus was a little runny. Instead of adding more flakes, I decided to add my trusty low carb, high fiber flour called Slimovina (another game changer in my life). This instantly thickened it up (it is my go to for adding body to soups and stews, and for making thicker sauces and gravies-- adds loads of nutrients but nearly no carbs. Can also be consumed as a hot cereal, or added to oats, grits.). So while I didnt set out to use the Slimovina, it was such a good/perfect addition that it might be my go-to mix. Just be mindful that Slimovina and Lupini products have A LOT of fiber. Then I used these delicious (to me, some people find them bland) [[ASIN: B084WMWQR4 organic high fiber crackers]]. Again, watch the fiber, lol. But seriously.. my belly gets filled up! I dont recall why I chose these particular flakes. Might have been price, might have been reviews, might have been random. I am just glad I did. I will buy again. This bag will last me awhile as the way made my hummus ended making quite a bit. I knew I wanted to make hummus-- while I am not keto, I am watching (kinda) my calories and carbs. Ive been avoiding hummus because I tend to eat a lot, and even a small amount packs in calories and carbs. By switching to lupin, I am reducing a lot of the carbs. I have plain lupin flour on hand, but wasn't sure if it would work for making hummus, hence my looking for beans or flakes. The flakes are way quicker, easier, cheaper than the pre cooked beans. Un cooked beans would likely never get made by me. So I went with the flakes. Now I will have to try using this in other recipes. Cool beans. haha

Slightly bitter but great in curry
I started adding these to my vegan keto cauliflower curry and they work well. They need to be soaked first, because they are quite bitter, but after soaking they work well. I also tried making an "oatmeal" substitute with coconut milk, allulose and cinnamon, however even with soaking ahead of time, the lupini flakes were too bitter. I'm still working out how best to use these as oats. Overall I'm very happy with them though; they fill for foods I can't eat.

Very good for overnight oat alternative
Very interesting oatmeal alternative. After getting used to the taste and adding proper sugar and spices its very delicious especially if use like overnight oats

Great vegan protein source!
This is a great vegan protein source that has great macros! Great for overnight oats! Mild nutty flavor! It is great sprinkled on salads too for a crunchy texture. I highly recommend this product. The only problem is that it is out of stock on Amazon.

Wanted to Love It
As someone with T1D/low carb dietary needs I'm always scouting for foods I can try out. I've been enjoying other lupini products and had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, there is still a bitter under taste with this product. Lupini beans are extremely bitter and need intensive processing to remove the bitterness. It still works well for dishes with a lot of spice/flavor - but as an oat or cereal substitute I found it unpalatable. Would buy again for savory dishes, but there are other more versatile lupini products out there.

Found small bugs...
After another review on this product about tiny bugs being found in their bag, I checked mine and I found small bugs, smaller than the size of a tiny ant alive and walking around. If you have this product, I highly recommend checking by pouring out a small amount on a plate and see if you see anything moving. I wish I had saw the other reviews before eating 2 servings of this.

Great addition to healthy diet!
My doctor wants me to eat more beans in diet for fiber and cholesterol lowering abilities. However, I am not a bean person. So I bought these flakes. I love them as a hot cereal in morning. LOW calories, High fiber, high protein and low carbs. It is a perfect meal! I add cinnamon and stevia, some fruit and to off with my FLAV City Vanilla protein mixed with almond milk and it is Delicious! I am trying to lose some weight before a photo shoot in October. Going to eat this every morning for a month and I will be back to give you my update.

Very versatile
The texture is much like oatmeal, and seems to just blend in with the flavors of whatever I'm adding the flakes to. Nice protein addition to many different dishes!

Amazing and healthy!
This stuff is amazing! My doctor told me I had high cholesterol and needed to incorporate more fiber in my diet. I don’t like oatmeal (to high carb count) so these were a great find! It has more benefits than just high fiber! High in zinc, magnesium, iron, tryptophan, and more! Easy and quick to make. I mix it with cinnamon, monk fruit sugar, ground flax seeds and a bit of heavy cream (when reheating) and it’s delicious! I hope they never run out of this! Great find!

Delicious!
It’s a 3 to 1 ratio of water or broth to flakes. There really isn’t any discernible flavour. Add whatever spices you like to make it go with whatever cooking. Garlic, fried onion, chillies etc… I like Lebanese 7 spice, and curry powder or Tajin spice for Mexican. Just keep experimenting…you really can’t go wrong.

Not what I expected
Tried it today and found when I placed milk in the bowl with flakes it the count of 20 all the milk was absorbed into the flakes and then they were mushy. I was expecting the to hold their crunch for 3-5 mins like corn flakes. Will not order again because I don’t like the texture or taste.
