This is the perfect set for anyone trying to get into doing gel nails at home. I was tired of paying close to $40 every 3 weeks to get my nails done (either that or putting up with the annoying chipping/peeling for an extra week or so just to put off having to shell out another 40 bucks). Gelish is a reputable brand for its foundation, top coat, soak-off polish remover, etc. So quality-wise this is by no means an 'entry-level' set -- I'm going to probably continue re-ordering from Gelish for a while. But the packaging is such that it's perfect for a beginner who's starting from scratch because it has all the essentials you'd need to get off the ground.The LED light works great, I think LEDs cure faster than UV lights by quite a lot, and the one included in this kit is slightly lower wattage than the full-size LED ones so it requires an extra 15 seconds, but that's honestly nothing given how small and portable this little thing is. As the others mentioned, yes the LED light will only accommodate your 4 fingers excluding the thumb, so you have to do the thumb separately, but I think it's unfair to dock any stars for this because it's clearly stated in the description. Know what you are buying people! The ONLY way for the light to be THIS tiny and portable is for it to require separate curing for the thumbs - I do both thumbs at the same time at the end. I like to sometimes take my nail kit with me to do my friends' nails so the portability of the light is perfect and was what I actually wanted. It fits into my tiny nail kit box and works like a charm.I did a lot of research and a lottt of youtubing to learn how to do gel nails and after having used this set with some OPI GelColor polishes, I am thrilled to report that I never have to get my nails done again. It's only been a little over a month and I've already successfully done my nails twice using this set. The first application lasted 4 weeks without ANY lifting/peeling/chipping and I honestly could have left it on longer, but my nails were getting way too long so I thought I might as well do a different color while trimming them. Of course the length of each application will depend on skill/technique, but my point is that if you use these correctly, you can achieve professional results. In fact, even when I got my nails done professionally, they didn't last this long --and that's because you need a little maintenance to extend the life of your gel polish. In order to get my first color to last a month, I applied another layer of top coat close to 2 weeks in, for that extra seal.PICTURES: The peachy pink color was my first try, and the picture was taken 2 weeks after application, shortly after I applied that 2nd layer of top coat. As you can see, no chips or peeling. The off-white lilac is what I recently put on when I redid my nails - I'm about a week in and they still look pristine.I would 100% recommend this set, and it will be MORE than worth your money.

My daughter loves this kit. We used to spend hundreds of dollars at the nail salon, and now she can easily get similar results on her own. The kit pays for itself after just one mani/pedi at home.It is hard to find full size bottles of the nail polish they suggest, but we buy different colors at Sally’s when there is a sale. The pink glitter color which comes with the kit is cheap looking and should be replaced by a more trendy color, but other than that, the kit is great. The lamp is big enough for 4 fingers, and she hasto do herthumbs seperately, but we knew the lamp was smaller and were expecting to have to do the thumbs individually. The kit is also a huge time saver. It used to take her hours before her polish was dry, and now she is done in minutes and doesn’t have to worry about ruining her nails.

Comes with everything you need to give yourself a gel manicure/pedicure. If you are new (like me) to giving yourself a gel manicure, the instructions that come on the box are not pinpoint clear about what to do, so make sure you check your email for the follow up instructions that are sent when you purchase or watch a youtube video. The lamp is too small to put all 4 fingers and your thumb in at the same time and too small to really fit all your toes in at the same time so do thumbs and big toes separate (I have relatively small hands and feet to give you and idea of the size). I did my toes in the colors that came in the box, pink with glitter on top and I went to Sally's (they carry a lot of Gelish colors) and bought Prim-Rose and Proper (neutral blush pink) and did my fingers in Prim-Rose and my ring fingers with glitter on top. I am really happy that I will no longer have the constantly chipping off nail polish look. People have complimented me. Also, I have had it one the past 7 days and I have washed dishes, cleaned bathrooms, gardened, and cleaned up after dogs and chickens, etc chores and they haven't chipped. Regular nail polish would be beyond chipped and practically gone by now with my normal routine. I am in my 30's and used to reg nail polish for all these years, until now- so maybe that is why I am so excited. I am going to throw out like almost all my old polishs because most of them are just pinks that I was hoping would have long lasting wear, but never really did (some colors I will use with the gel foundation and top coat, but not many because my days of hoarding useless nail polish are over!)

I got this for myself to save time and money. I’ve used it twice now and absolutely LOVE it. I’m a complete beginner and I was able to use it. Granted there’s not really “step by step” instructions, they do include all the tools you need to complete your nails. I listed out the steps below in case anyone finds that helpful. I watched dozens of YouTube videos to get it down.I know some have complained about the lamp size. Yes it is small, you can only cure your 4 fingers at a time and do the thumb separately but that doesn’t bother me. I like the compactness of it. It plugs right in and works perfectly! I also like that you turn on the lamp, and it cures for the exact time that you need and shuts off automatically!Here are the steps:1. File the nail beds a bit to rough them up. Rinse and dry the nails thoroughly.2. Put on the pH bond.3. Put on the foundation (don’t apply any layer super thick.) Cure for 10 seconds.4. Put on a layer of color. Cure for 30 seconds.5. Put on second layer of color. Cure for 30 seconds.6. Put on top coat. Cure for 30 seconds.7. Put some of the nail cleanse liquidonto some toilet paper or a paper towel. Wipe the nails with it. That removes the stickiness.
