Had this product for about a month now and so far I love the quality and works as it is intended too. It's easy to set up a feeding schedule and the dispensing is accurate (I use Orijen Small bites and it's perfect size) does not jam or over flow. Bought this as several attempts to try and make feeding time less stressful on myself and my rescue Shiba who was apparently attacked in the shelter during feeding time and developed a lot of PTSD and crazy quirks from it (sometimes he thiks his tail is another dog and he will attack it during meal times). I tried to feed him from a regular bowl but I have been bitten for getting too close and then he would follow me around as if i was a threat to his food and would try and eat it all. I then switched to a gravity bowl feeder which helped keep me out of the picture and was less stressful for both of us... issue was the food never ended and he was over eating an it now a bit chunky. I recently took him to the vet and learned he has a luxating patilla and a bit of arthritis in thag knee and that he had gained 3 lbs since I rescued him! He is not a bit dog and I felt bad so I bought this to get his weight down in hopes it would keep him from over eating. SO FAR SO GOOD! He no longer associates me with his food bowl, he no longer attacks his tail when he is full and then thinks his tail is going to eat it and so he forces himself to keep eating. He no linger guards uneaten food. I dont have the voice activation set up but the food despenses loud enough he just jumps up to go check it out and their is no anxieties attached it's been a huge relief. He now doesnt feel the need to guard the bowl of uneaten food from people or the cats because he is comfortable eating the serving and then it's gone. I'll have to give it more time before updating my review on Mako's progress because of the product. So happy i went out and bought the fountain water dish since the cats love to drink from the dogs gravity water bowl but they keep jamming it and making a mess when playing in the water. Comes Wednesday and I'll have to make a review on whether it's a better option for the cats who see to struggle finsing the water until they splash in it and see it move or despense. *Update* been a year and a half and the products have not had any issues and still work as intended. My dog knows when his food will despense... he is a medium sized Shiba and I buy the Orijen small bites and it's perfect. No more stressful meal times! The water dish is used by all 3 pets. My cats love it and so does my shiba. I do have to refill it everyday with 3 pets using it but I don't mind... just means the water is fresh. Worth the money.

Update-2 years later: I have had this for two years now and there have been no problems with jamming, malfunctions, etc. The battery back up is excellent and has worked great during power outages. Even when I take the batteries out and disconnect from outlet to clean, the clock and settings resume perfectly without having to be reset once reconnected to power sources. One issue is that if it is not cleaned regularly crevices in the shute, in the part that rotates to portion the food, etc can develop some mold as even the dry kibble has some moisture/oils. I take it apart and clean it about once a month. The other issue is that after I take it apart and wash everything, it has to dry ABSOLUTELY completely or else more mold will develop. I live in an extremely humid environment in the summers and it can be very hard to get it completely dry-especially the parts with multiple crevices and nooks and crannies. I've learned to dry it with a hand towel as much as possible, then let it sit for several hours, tap the pieces that have nooks and crannies on my hand repeatedly until I no longer feel droplets coming out, let it sit again and test again for moisture before reassembling it. However, even though this is a pain, the feeder is absolutely worth it in my opinion. I still have someone come by once a day when I am away to check on the cat and make sure the feeder it working ok (and clean the litter box, etc) but I no longer have to have someone come more than that. Although I have read other reviews where people mention that their cat has learned to tip it over to get the top off, my cat has not bothered it. Original review: I bought this several months ago for my obese cat who can't be convinced that he will get meals reliably and eats all of whatever is put before him rapidly and then barfs it up. I've been able to program it to dispense small amounts of food 6 times a day and he is slowly losing weight and mostly satisfied. The only problem has been that the directions for taking the inner piece out when cleaning are incorrect and could damage the feeder if followed the way it is printed. I found an excellent YouTube video which showed the proper way to do this. It also matters which way it is reassembled... again seems vulnerable to breaking if not done properly. So the printed directions which come with the product need revising/correcting. The hopper holds nearly a month's worth of food. No jamming so far. The display is easy to program (the directions are clear and accurate for this feature) and the clock maintains the time even when there's no power from either battery or electricity. For some reason, my batteries have run down even with little to no use while the unit is plugged into the electricity socket. I have recently put in new batteries in case there was something wrong with the first set so hopefully I can see if this is a problem with the unit or not. I do need the batteries to stay charged in case of power outages. I still have a pet sitter come once a day if I am gone more than a day to make sure everything is ok.

The overall product seems like great quality and came as advertised. We have used it for about one week and while the cats still need more time to get used to it, it has worked perfectly set up to our schedule. The instructions were easy to follow and we were able to set up our feeding schedule in minutes. The voice recording feature is cute but can't say that our cats really respond to it yet. We have noticed that the hopper fullness/dish fullness sensitivity sets off the warning on the screen very easily, but it is not too hard to fix that to make the alarm go away. The brightness of the light on front (blue or red depending on status) is really strong and I wish there was a way to turn it down or make it less bright. It only functions as an alert feature for humans and not pets and it seems like its right at eye level for our cats - I do wonder if it bothers them. The portion size is good and you might have to test with your pet food to see exactly how much comes out. The hopper full of food does not actually lock and is really just a cover, but it fits snugly enough that our mischievous cat hasn't figured out how to get it off. Overall I'm satisfied and I hope this product lasts us a long time.

I bought two of these automatic feeders; one for my cat’s food and one for his treats. Programming them was super easy, and I’m running both on batteries so I don’t have to keep them plugged in. 1 year in and they’ve been awesome and have worked flawlessly so far. It gives me a lot of peace of mind when I’m away or on vacation knowing my indoor/outdoor cat can come inside, eat on schedule, and not miss a meal. They also look really nice sitting in my home — clean design and easy to keep tidy. Definitely worth it.

I bought this for when I have to leave town for a few days, but I've been using it consistently for a couple weeks to feed my cat. The packaging was really done well and everything that came in the box was well protected (important for those who constantly suffer from getting damaged packages from rough shipping companies). Unpacking was easy and setup is done quickly; put in 3 D-cell batteries (used in the event of a power outage) and plug in the power cord. The programming of the feeder is not as complicated as it may seem. You simply unlock the keypad and then step through the configuration with the setup button. It prompts you for each setting and the icons are very intuitive. I setup mine for two feedings (you can have up to 4), one in the morning and one in the evening. You can set the serving size from 1 - 9 portions, with each portion being about 1-1/3 tbsp each. I would suggest manually feeding out a few portions and measuring it to how much you currently feed your cat and using that portion count. You can record a message for you cat simply by holding the record button for 3 seconds, speaking into it, and pressing the record button again to save it. The message will play when it dispenses. I manually fed the cat with it the first time so he could hear the message, hear the sounds the feeder makes when dispensing, and then see the food come out. Now he knows where to go to get the food when it dispenses. I'm pretty happy with it and will continue to use it daily. It's make feeding so much easier, and the clear tank is nice to see when the food supply gets low.

This definitely is a great feeder. I purchased it for my Bunny and it works great. I love that I don't have to worry about him running out of food if I'm working or sleeping. Because this machine will shoot out whatever amount of food. I said it too, and at the exact time.I said it too.It works perfectly. You'll see in the picture that there's not that much food in the dish, but there's a lot of food on the floor lol. That's only because my bunny likes to eat food off the floor so what I did was take the plate off which is very easy to do and it shoots the food onto the floor so if you have an animal that likes to eat off the floor this is perfect too. This is definitely worth it. You can plug it in or it takes D batteries. It is very easy to clean. It Comes apart can be put back together in no time. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and also if and when this breaks, I will purchase another one.

This is a great automatic feeder. It was shipped quickly and arrived very well packaged. It was easy to set up and has been working beautifully. My only minor complaint is that the bowl is a bit small for my needs. I have 2 cats, so I would have liked a bigger bowl, but that's my fault since I didn't order something that's specifically designed for multiple cats. I removed the stainless steel inner feeder bowl from the white bowl and that made it a bit bigger so that I can increase the portion amounts. It's sleek design is very nice and I appreciate the hidden control panel which prevents accidental settings changes. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I've been using this feeder for a little while now and overall I say it's not a bad purchase. It has had a few problems for me and I feel like worth mentioning to anyone my want to buy it. I have a little 6 &1/2 lb cat that has easily figured out that if she jiggles the feeder or even knocks it over the food will come out. This has led her to claw and bite the plastic all over to get the feeder to fall. I ended up building a small box to surround the feeder so that she couldn't get into it, but all of that effort really feels stupid when the feeder should just stay secured. I've run into a recent problem that prompted me to write a review and look for other feeders in that the food does not stay sealed inside the feeder. This has led to small ants getting inside multiple times. I've had to take apart the thing to completely clean it and it's not easy to take it apart. The food holder does not separate from the bottom portion like I know other feeders do, so properly cleaning it is impossible. If you like to keep things clean then this thing will not be your friend. My cat's food like many others has fat in it that attract bugs and if it's not in a secured environment that causes problems. It has served me very well for my first automatic cat feeder, but I don't think it's something worth purchasing. I think spending a little bit more money on something nicer is advisable.

Compré 2 para mis gatos porque por mi trabajo tengo que salir de casa algunos fines de semana. Los comederos automáticos funcionan de maravilla y son muy resistentes a los juegos dd mis gatos. En caso de que se lleguen a desconectar, éstos siguen funcionando con pilas y no dejan de alimentar a mis gatitos.

Funciona de manera excelente, es muy intuitivo para configurar, da la opción de hasta 4 comidas y 9 porciones por comida, el sonido para llamarlos a comer se graba de una manera muy clara, estoy feliz con mi compra, es importante resaltar que no viene con baterías
