Will this one stop bees from being able to feed?** A: That's a hard question to answer. I guess, technically, you will always have bees attracted to anything sweet, and this feeder is no different. The thing is, the bees can't get to the nectar in any meaningful way, and if they do it just becomes apicide - the bees get in but they don't get out. The old feeders I used would easily attract 50 bees or more constantly. It got to the point that the nozzle the hummers would feed from were covered with bees and so they just stayed away until evening. This feeder is not gravity fed so the hummers have to land and stick their tongue down to feed. There's also like a vacuum break, 4 holes on the center inside that do something, not sure what. Between those 4 holes and the 4 holes that the birds feed through there's usually one or two bees that manage to squeeze in. Fortunately there's no leakage so there's no nectar slopped all over the top or sides so there's no big hoards of bees constantly buzzing around, just 1 or 2 and they usually sniff for a bit and leave. Point is, the hummers can handle a couple of bees no problem and they seem to like this feeder as much as the last few I had, which is good. As far as any other animals I've never seen a squirrel or raccoon or anything else besides maybe another bird on the feeder. The design seems to work so far for me. **Q: I get ants in mine. Do I need to fill the moat? If so, with what?** A: Moats have been either too messy, or dry up too quickly for me. I recently found some different types of non-toxic ant barriers in "The Bug Snub" store on Amazon. Just depends where you put it. I've never had a squirrel get in one. My feeders aren't where raccoons can get to them, but I have had raccoons "bottoms up" a hummingbird feeder for a nice long drink. **Q: Bought this HighView 2 seasons ago.. Now, 3 ports are broken. I need to replace it but will it happen again?Is the port construction improved?** A: Iā€™d like to know about replacing the red top also.
