Replaced the cdi and coil in my 50cc gy6. Perfect fit. Super easy install. Noticeable gains in acceleration on straights/downhill. Added about 2km/h on the top end. But still struggles going up hill and slows right down. This was step one in increasing some power. Now just to get some more in the low end/torque. Next is exhaust and carb. Did not use spark plug because of other comments. All in all- happy with purchase.

CDI is a total failure. Hard start, then acceleration was very limited and I couldn’t get the scooter to run over 20 mph. Stock coil provided better performance. NGK spark Plug was also better, with this 3 contacts plug the motor would hesitate mid range - was starting to suspect a defective needle jet. Removed the red plug and replaced it with the recommended plug = problem solved. The Chinese Scooter parts market is a jungle. Make some research before buying as a lot of junk is sold out there. It could also be a compatibility issue…my gut feeling is that plug needs too much juice from the system or needs a specific type of coil.
