I grounded mine when I installed it outdoors. You do need to ground it. **Q: The description says 'supports passive poe to power the switch', does that mean actual passive poe, or does it support 802.3at/af standard to power it** A: I'm using 48v 60 watt POE inserter, to run switch and 4 POE camera. Used it to add cameras to location where I couldn't run more cables. **Q: Saw the anser on support for 802.1q tagged/vlan. just trying to clarify, is this smart managed or it just passes all vlan on the line?** A: It’s definitely not a smart managed switch.
