Absolutely ridiculous! How in god's name are you supposed to get these things to work with anything but the preset schemes?I've a mesh system, so it seems these lights aren't going to work. I've set the guest access on my router to try to get them to work through that as it's 2.4GHz, but it's also downstairs, so the signal still won't work, I'm damned if I'm moving my complete set-up to be near a router just for some lights!It would be better if it came with a remote controller rather than depending on an app. Money wasted as it took a while to get around to setting it up - well trying to but not being able to - so too late to return it.If anyone has a sensible workaround to get these lights working without the need to connect up to a router I'd really like to know

When i got this product it was hard to put together and one of the lights were broken i tried to make do but the lights then didnt connect to blue tooth or any apps suggested both me and my brother tried several times so overall disappointed in product but seller was excellent and issued full refund with no issues

They worked very efficiently and are very bright. I did not expect them to live up to expectations but they were great

Bought at £9.99 on a lightening deal but I wouldn't buy at full price. This is a nice light but set up has the usual pain of 2.4GHz vs 5GHz.

Wifi implementation is dreadful. Had to create a 2.4 network for it cos they’re using old tech, and it sometimes just doesn’t respond anyway.Extremely expensive for very underwhelming technology replaced with hue lights.

I would summarise this as "OK", especially as I've now mostly resolved my initial problems. Although sold as a pack of 12, the recommendation (stated on the Amazon page if you can find it) is not to exceed 10 lights. Even with 10, you will struggle to power if from a standard 5V USB socket. I tried this and it was extremely unstable, occasionally "crashing" when trying to change the settings from the app (the entire thing would just flicker and no longer respond to the app unless it was powered off and back on). Eventually I purchased a 33W USB adapter (this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0C7GTTJW8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1) that means I can supply it with around 3A. This does seem to work, but I think I would run into issues again if I tried to add more lights.They should make the power limitations more clear on the purchase page, along with the need to buy a separate adapter for reliable operation.On the plus side it's very bright and you can make some very striking patterns in the app. It also feels well made and high quality.
