I like everything about them, as a beginner
I’m a 260lb tattooed 50yr old guy who needs exercise. Despite being off skates since adulthood, my girl took me to a roller rink and I decided this would be good for me. I’ve been using these Darts for about two weeks now, three days per week, and they’ve been a great purchase at their price point. The smallest sneaker I can wear is an 11. I wanted a good safe fit and ordered an 11 for these Riedells and they fit perfect. I read reviews about being narrow but I feel it fits like it should. I guess I don’t have wide feet but I definitely don’t have narrow feet. Anyway, I thought they fit true to size, for men. The weight doesn’t bother me and I’ve had NO ankle pain.. and I’m out of shape, so I should have. I kind of have feet problems and a lot of shoes are too uncomfortable for me but these skates did fine with stock insoles for the hour I spend on them at the rink. The wheels are great for beginners. They feel like they’re smooth and quick enough but, being as I was a big skateboarder for decades, I might try upgrading the wheels to a slightly harder one, maybe a 95a, with Swiss bearings. I THINK I want to go faster.. but the wheels and bearings that come on it are great quality and should make most people happy. I’m only going to change them to see what happens, not because I’m unhappy with their performance. So, if you’re looking for a good skate that’s is good at its price point, I think Riedell Darts work great.

Value and performance!!
Purchased these for roller derby. These are well made and the fit was perfect! Wheels are perfect for indoor rink skating. Well worth the price!

Absolutely fantastic skates!
I love these skates, they literally glide across the floor. I know why they are called jam skates. They are beautiful and have excellent padding. Completely comfortable right out of the box! I love them. I did buy black waxed skate laces because I think they hold the skate tighter and better. They seem extremely durable and aren’t really heavy either. They are just perfect. That’s my opinion anyway. I have to say i have several pairs of skates but these are my favorite. I love how easy they make it to perform a circle or just glide in general. You can do a lot on these skates plus the toe stops are the best! They actually are the perfect height so you can stop with ease and they just stop you. They don’t grab and not hold to where you would lose your balance. They actually make stopping probably the easiest of any skates I have ever had on. 5+ stars. Love these!

Great for beginners and intermediates but dicey for virgin newbies
If you already know how to stand and roll, and you have no intention of going past recreational skating (defined as not competing, official roller derby, sanctioned races, etc) then these could be the only skates you ever have to buy. But there are pros and cons to these skates one should consider. (1) No ankle support and very low heel. Bad for newbies and challenging for beginners. They are speed skates, after all, even if most speed skating is done on inlines these days. (2) The skates are heavy because the trucks are 100% aluminum. The R3 has lighter nylon trucks but is probably not a good option if you weigh more than 150 pounds. The next model with lighter metal trucks is nearly four times more expensive and intended for competitive skating. That these are all heavy is not all bad—they transfer power very well and you will build up strength in your legs for sure. (3) They will feel narrow but new laces (see below) will fix that. (4) The shoes are nylon. Fine for recreation, and training, and your nylon boots can be molded to your feet easily. Search the internet for how to do that. You will see one of the main disadvantages of nylon trucks when you do. (5) Round shoe laces are useless. Throw them out immediately and buy flat waxed laces. Better yet, buy the waxed laces when you buy these skates. Used the laces that come with these skates for your work or hiking boots because that is what they are. They are NOT skating laces. (6) The shoe laces secure the feet. The velcro straps secure the shoelaces, which is extremely important as you do not want laces loose and tangled in your wheels. But do NOT count on the velcro strap to secure your feet. Again, they are meant to tie the laces. Pulling too hard on the strap may damage the belt and wear out the velcro prematurely. (7) The wheels are excellent. A professional might want better wheels, but these are the best a non-competitor recreational skater will ever need. They are too good, fast, and hard for outdoor use. If you're buying these skates for outdoor use as well, you will ironically need to buy softer, slower wheels for the outdoors, 76A-78A. (8) You need to buy toe covers. They don't have to invest in full-grain leather. $8-$10 for a pair of cheap PU leather toe covers is all you need but you WILL need to cover up those toes or you will mar ups these boots badly and fast especially if you skate outdoors. Finally: ANY pair of skates at ANY price point will have pros and cons. These are the best REAL most respected skates at this price point, bar none.

Would buy them again for sure
I’m extremely happy with my Riedell skates — this was an excellent purchase. They are very comfortable on the inside, and you can really see and feel the quality of the stitching and overall construction. Everything feels well made and durable. I followed the size chart carefully when choosing my size, and they fit perfectly.

Great looking, well-made.
I was so happy to find skates in a size Men's 14. It was a must have since they don't rent size 14 at the rink. Great looking skates and well-made.

SO COMFY!!! (Size down)
The shoe to these is SO comfortable!! So much better than VNLAs! I did end up putting some rollerbones wheels and bearings on them because the original wheels are too slow imo. I also added some pink derby laces. Perfect for beginners tho! They are so cute as well and don’t make my feet look big. Definitely size DOWN and MEASURE YOUR FOOT standing up!! I’m usually a 9-9.5 in shoes but I ordered an 8 and they are PERFECT! I love the adjustable strap as well and it holds the laces in place. This was such a great buy and I highly recommend.

Son muy cómodos, traen su llave para ajustar las ruedas y los trucks, el tope es ajustable a la altura que quieras, la talla es correcta. Cuidado si quieres hacer una devolución o un cambio te cobrarán cargos de importación.

Delivered quickly and well made!!!

I only have complaints about the insoles of the skates, they should be thicker or of better quality since you can feel the screws a little.

Was told by Amazon to contact Riedell for defective wheel bearings. Was told by Riedell to find someone that knows wheels to fix it. I know how to fix wheels and I know when a skate has a bad bearing. I was also told "this is way beyond my job scope." My skates were used once and Riedell refused to resolve the problem.
