German quality pliers, but a little stiff
These are amongst the best pliers on the market. The main comparison will naturally be against Knipex. For me personally NWS have a number of advantages and only one disadvantage:I really like the well thought out design of the jaws themselves; the side cutters and combies are also reemers, the combies have a detent near the end of the jaw useful for extracting nails or bending wire, the long nose and the combies both have two different round gripping areas, one with small teeth and another with large teeth (hidden behind the cutting edge). The matte chrome finish is excellent and hard wearing. It does a good job of preventing corrosion and reflective glare. Although like all chrome finishes it slightly dulls the cutting edge which can be irritating when stripping back cable insulation. The handles/grips are also some of the best thought out and comfortable I've encountered. The one thing that lets these down is the pivot point; it seems stuff and slightly uneven. While my Knipex pliers effortlessly swing from open to closed, these will stop and hold their position wherever I let go.That said, unlike (most) Knipex pliers, these have adjustable pivot points (Knipex preferring the more durable rivet style). So it is possible these simply come slightly too tight; I may get my thread lock out one day and see if they can be adjusted.
