I was so disappointed when these arrived. They look so much better in the pictures.The images on the placemats are not as crisp and clear as they are on the listing and the variation in colours means they don't really consistently match decor.They genuinely look like something you'd pick up in a pound shop, which is quite a let down given the price.

I’ve been hankering over new placemats for months and kept going back to these. So wish I’d bought them months ago. I was pleasantly surprised by their thickness. They feel good quality and robust. Personally I’d have liked six different designs but two each of three designs will suffice for randomness. I’ve since bought the Pimpernel Earth Slate coasters and when I have more than six people around the dining table I’ll mix and match these with my very old and faithful but now a bit tatty placemats.

I bought these to blend with other slate elements we have in the kitchen and they do resemble slate (or at least 2 of the designs do - I think the 3rd is a little poor).I've had this make before and they do last really well - these ones have a thicker board than our previous ones, which makes them feel more sturdy, and quality-wise, they seem an improvement, so I think you will only replace them when you want a new design, rather than through wear and tear.The top board was slightly damaged when I received them - a small dent that I assume was made during transit, so do look carefully before opening.

These are a bit dark and moody but go just perfect with my colour scheme. The finish is lovely, I can imagine they will last a long time.
