What is the difference between this (rake) and the deshed tool?

The rake is use for weekly maintenance whereas the deshed I use when my dogs start coat change. This cuts down on the hair drop in the house. Hope this helps.

Can this one be used on a large dog, about 60 lbs siberian husky, medium-long hair?

Absolutely, this works on medium-short fur to long fur. I use it on my labs and my friend used it on her great pyrenees dogs. We both love it and it works great.

What is the width of the brush where the "teeth" are?

A little over 4.5 inches. What type if dog are you getting this for? We have a lab and this rake was not good for her hair, the teeth are too big and spread apart.

Is it suitable for Bernese Mt Dogs ? The handle on my Furminator under the rubber cover has snapped in half. Just looking for new type of rake.

Hi Shelley, yes its very well made and durable I own 2 gsd and a yorkie. My 2 gsd have heavy undercoats and furminator takes quite a beating with my 3. My friend who recommended it to me has 2 full grown Huskeys. So I think that speakes for it self. If you still have doubts just call your local dog groomer and get some confirmation/tips.
