Are stainless steel cookie cutters better than plastic ones?

Not really. What you want in a cookie cutter is good quality no matter what it is made out of. These cookie cutters are not that good a quality material. They are rather flimsy.

Can they be put in the dishwasher?

They probably could be put in the dishwasher on the top level. However, these were so poorly made that I just threw them out.

Could you use these in a skillet to make a heart shaped egg?

I have no idea if they would work well with eggs. However, they make great cookies! They cut nice and sharp.

Can you use them in the oven to make car freshies?

I just use it for styling, not baking it in the oven
