HITO 12 Inch Night Light Wall Clock Battery Operated Brightness Adjustable, Metal Frame, Glass Cover(Hands Illuminate)

PRO: easy to read (at night), accurate, stylish, quiet CON: requires multiple batteries This clock was a gift to myself. I wanted something I can see at night (even though I have a clock on nightstand). Also, I just like the light show. It has been running several months on the same batteries, so not sure how long they will last yet. I did NOT want the glowing numbers because honestly, I know where the numbers are on the face and I thought they would give too much light. I can easily read them at night. Strange thing...I noticed the lights blink occasionally, at I found it happens when I turn my TV on (???). I'm sure there's some good reason for it, but it really is minor and goes away. Recommend.

This is a great clock. I have it in our bedroom and I can read the time without my glasses when I wake up in the middle of the night. Turns on automatically when it gets dark and turns off when the sun comes up. My ONLY complaint is that it will occasionally flicker or flash for several seconds. I bought and returned 2 of these thinking I had just received damaged ones, but the third one does the same flickering thing. I'm keeping this one, but I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of this.

Purchased for bedroom bathroom, where I wanted to be able to tell the time in the dark, but did not want a disturbing light source. Got the one with only the lit hands, and it’s perfect! Adjustable brightness, for me is perfect on the lowest setting. And whoever programmed the auto-on/off photocell got it exactly right - it stays off until you it’s dark enough that you can’t read the clock. Turns off at the first hint of light, to save batteries. Case is a nice brushed nickel finish, with good quality plastic lens. Silent running. Nicely printed face. I’m ordering a second one :)

Update Jan 17, 2023 - Continue to love the clock, for BOTH accuracy and looks.. It has not lost more than a couple of seconds, if that, in 3 months of ownership! Love the fact that that it can be dimmed way down, and we can tell the time with a quick glance at night. In fact, all 4 Hito clocks are highly accurate, silent and beautiful time pieces! Completely satisfied. Original Review: Very accurate (observation from 1 week of ownership), totally silent and lovely night time illumination.. Great value for money at $10. Not too thrilled at the purported 6-9 months of battery life for 4 AA batteries (3# for illumination and 1# for time function); ended up ordering 3 more Hito clocks, different 10” size, hoping they’d all be as accurate AND silent as this one!

A traditional analog wall clock with clear lighted hands. Only the hands are lighted, not the background and it is genuine LED light, not mere fluorescence. I glance on it at night half asleep and know what the time is without turning on my brain. The connection between time and the dial of an analog clock is hard wired in me. To read a digital clock, I have to use my brain to recognize the digits that we learned in first grade, and go from there that gets me awake.

Update: the minute hand stopped illuminating after 3 months. Great disposable clock. Just enough illumination to tell time, not enough to disturb sleep, large enough for my near-sighted eyes.

This is so much better than the glow in the dark one I bought. The only negative is that it flickers at night a little, also i wish there was at least a tiny dot next to each number, i know it would probably use more battery, but it might be ok. Still it's better than the altrenative. I love the design also, it looks cool at night.

Really pleased with the look and functionality of this wall clock. I've never liked bedside LED clocks, and this is a perfect alternative. The hands at their dimmest setting are subtle enough to not be a nuisance while sleeping, but bright enough to read in the dark. I customized the clock face, and again, this clock is perfect for such projects. The metal bezel of the clock is held together with four sturdy springs rather than screws and disassembly is a breeze. Once the metal ring is removed, the glass can be lifted right off. The OEM face is a flimsy plastic that is held in place by double-sided adhesive tape running along the perimeter. The plastic face peels easily from the adhesive, but can easily be returned without needing new tape. Each hand of the clock has it's own LED powered by metal contact pins from the clock face (Face pins touch hour hand, hour hand pin touches minute hand). The number font is "Handel Gothic" (the same font used for DS9) in case you want to cut out numbers on vinyl. I can't recommend this clock enough.

Wer wie ich diese Uhr kauft, der wird es wohl wegen der Nachtbeleuchtung tun. Es ist, soweit ich es ausfindig machen konnte, die einzige Uhr mit genau dieser Bauart, also qusai ein Unikum. Ich hatte mich für die Variante nur mit den nur beleuchteten Zeigern entschieden. Dies war auch gut so. Die Beleuchtungsstärke kann über ein kleines Rad an der Rückseite stufenlos eingestellt werden. Letztendlich bin ich bei der kleinsten Beleuchtungsstufe gelandet und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Mir gefällt auch, dass die beiden Zeiger unterschiedliche Beleuchtungsfarben haben. Das Licht geht an wenn es notwendig wird, nämlich in der Dämmerung. Es funktioniert sowohl in einem komplett dunklen Raum, als auch in einen Raum mit nächtlichem Teillicht von draußen. Die Uhr habe ich jetzt seit über 4 Wochen und ein Batterietausch war bisher nicht notwendig. Die Uhr geht genau und sie ist absolut leise, ist also wie im Angebot beschrieben ("Sweep"). Besser gefallen würde sie mir etwas kleiner und mit einem weißen Ziffernblatt bzw. einem etwas anderem Design ohne "Zahlen". Aber das ist Geschmackssache. Mit einem weißen Ziffernblatt hätte ich mir noch eine weitere gekauft, so wurde es dann eine gänzlich andere Uhr: TFA Digital mit ebenfalls automatischer Hintergrundbeleuchtung 60.4508, auch über Amazon (in dieser Form auch eher ein Unikum Verbaut ist in der HITO scheinbar ein "Young Town Taiwan 12888 Quarz-Uhrwerk" Ich kann die HITO mit Zeigernachtlicht empfehlen und gebe gerne 5 Sterne. Nachtrag: Im Dezember 2021 fing die "lautlose, schleichende Sekunde" leider an zu "rattern". Es half die Batterie zu entnehmen und zu warten, dann lief sie zwar wieder leise, aber das Spiel wiederholte sich ständig. Da ich keinen Rat gefunden habe, was ich da tun kann, habe ich sie im Januar 2022 dann schließlich entsorgt. An sich hat die Uhr ja noch Garantie, aber ich finde in meiner Kaufanzeige einfach keinen Button wo draufsteht: "Mängelanzeige innerhalb des Garantiezeitraums" (Kauf bei Amazon D von Amazon US). :-( Die Entsorgung tut mir leid, weil die Uhr mit über 50€ dafür zu teuer war. Außerdem fand ich die zweifarbigen Nachtlichtzeiger schön!!! Sie, bzw. die drei Batterien dafür, hielten, eingestellt auf der kleinsten Stufe, auch von Anfang September 2021 bis Anfang Januar 2022 durch. De Bewertung mit 5***** ändere ich nicht, weil ich glaube, dass das Werk oft verbaut wird und nicht grundsätzlich schlecht ist. Ich vermute, ich hatte einfach nur Pech.

Modern looking which suits the design of my bedroom. Very functional as well with well lit hour and minute needle to tell the time in the dark. Thumbs up!

Die Uhr funktioniert einwandfrei.Lichtsensor für Dunkelheit auch.Der große zeiger war etwas verstellt. Könnte aber von mir. leicht eingestellt werden da die Glasscheibe leicht zu demontieren war.
