Make a Heavy Duty key ring or use for hanging tools or securing zippers on bags
I bought some lighter-duty versions for use as key rings a few years ago. I’ve been using them for several years and only twice have they unscrewed by themselves and dumped my keys. Really, my fault - I should have checked them periodically, just like everything else.I gave my last one away a few days ago so when I searched for replacements I realized that I paid 50 cents each for the originals and I could get this pack of 100 heavier-duty ones for 19 cents a piece. When I received them they all looked well made, no messy crimps, no loose strands of wire. The package of 100 was tightly bound with a nylon zip tie. They are a little harder to bend in a loop but that is because they are at least 50% thicker cable than my old ones. The clasps screw together easily and the stiffness of the cable puts pressure on the clasp so that it won’t unscrew by itself (I hope). I have to squeeze the loop to reduce the pressure on the clasp in order to unscrew it.I have found them very useful for key rings, attaching luggage tags, and holding zippers closed on suitcases (I run a cable through the holes in the zipper tabs.).They are a good security tool - I remember being in the Paris subway, watching a back-packer reading the map on the wall. Meanwhile a pick-pocket was going through the zippered pockets of the guy’s backpack (until I yelled and he ran away). Now, I use these loops to secure the zippers on my backpack while traveling. It isn’t as secure as a lock, but it isn’t as heavy, either. But it is more than enough to discourage a pickpocket because you can’t unscrew them without some effort. But not so much effort that I have trouble opening them when I need access. But the peace of mind while sight-seeing is well worth it.I have used them to hang brooms on the wall — drill a small hole near the end of the handle, put a cable loop through the hole and now I can hang the broom on a nail or a hook. These cables look so strong that I feel confident using them to hang heavier items — like power tools that have an eye-loop on the handle so you can hang them from your tool belt or on a wall. These cables can also be daisy-chained together to form longer cables, which means I don’t have to buy different sizes. The clasps appear to be just as strong or stronger than the ones on the thinner cables I have been using for years so I feel comfortable using these cables on heavy objects (like a battery powered drill) to hang on my garage wall.I’m sure I’ll find many uses for them and they are inexpensive. If I find out that they aren’t as durable as they look I will amend my review.

THESE ARE GREAT FOR GOLF BAG TAGS
I worked in the bag room at a Westwood country club in St. Louis. We used a 6 inch 1.5mm , plastic coated cable to hold bag tags on bags They worked well and seemed to stay tightly screwed together.I decided to try the 2.0 mm 6 inch cables for my country club in Alamo TX. They are not plastic coated and being larger diameter are a little stiffer but not that hard to screw together. After comparing the 1.5mm plastic coated cables to these I would prefer the 1.5mm for this purpose. These 2.0mm cables are good, this just my personal preferenceThey have uses for more than bag tags.
