Works GREAT!
OK..I'm leaving five stars although I should leave 4 1/2 for scientific accuracy because I can't be 100% sure this was the cure (but he's apparently cured). My nine-year old Coton de Tulear has had tear stain issues since a puppy. The old Angel Eyes formula with the antibiotic Tylosin would work (while I used it but the stains would always come back and I didn't want to keep him on it forever). That formula was discontinued but I purchased Tylosin separately and would restart him on it. So the stains had gotten pretty bad again, with that "yeasty" smell and I started him on Tylosin for about 2 1 /2 weeks. Then I ordered I-Stain and two months later the stains have not come back. Could it be diet change? Maybe, I rotate foods and the last kibble bag brand is "limited" ingredient but he still gets other stuff rotated in. But in nine years this is the longest he's gone "stain-free." BTW, speaking of smells, this stuff packs a whallop when you open it--very cheesy. But you get used to it and it doesn't linger on the dog or anything. I think it also makes it more palatable for him when sprinkled on dry food. Anyway I don't know if this will cure the stains initially (Tylosin does temporarily and don't want to go down that antibiotic argument rathole here), but it is definitely preventing a recurrence for longer than we've experienced. Your mileage may vary but if it doesn't initially cure (you may need something tougher--ask your vet), it definitely prevents recurrence in my dog so far. Couldn't be happier.

Works better, excellent value, and white seal point rag doll cat loves the taste
My white rag doll cat had been on Angels Eyes for years, and it kept his black tear stains at bay. He did not like the liver taste, even mixed with a can of his favorite Fancy treats, and walked away for hours before giving in and eating it. Of course I ran out of powder when it went off the market, and the tear tracks returned. Enter I-Stain. Kuba has no issue with the taste, and eats his medicated wet food treat very happily. In less than two weeks, the tear stains were nearly gone. In three weeks, they were totally gone. And the Jar is HUGE compared to the other product, Superb product and value. VERY Satisfied.Feb 2019 update. Kuba still loves his I-Stain powder, and so does his tabby "brother" who often trades dishes halfway through their meals. This is a superb upgrade from Angels Eyes. reliable product
We have used Thomas Labs Stain powder on our Shih Tzu dog for several years. Tear stains and saliva stains just do not develop when the product is used daily. Understand that it will not make current stains disappear, that only comes when the fur grows out and is trimmed off. It keeps new stains from developing. Good product.

My dogs love it TOO much!!
We have two dogs and one cat in the house. Neither of our dogs are overweight. In fact, we have a newly-adopted pup we have to make sure eats enough. BOTH our dogs LOVED the taste of this. We had to pull some food away from one of them, as he usually doesn't eat an entire bowl in one sitting, and we didn't want him to have digestive issues. Our cat was IN the dog kennel trying to get to the newly-flavored food.We just started using it, so no review on how good is works on eye stains yet. We've had NO luck with any product we've ever used, so I'll be anxious to review on that issue.

so far nothing
Would have preferred this to be in a chewy treat - as is, my dog does not like the taste and no matter what food I mix it in, usually does not eat it.So then I tried mixing it with water and shooting it into his mouth with an oral syringe. I have done that for about a month now and have yet to see any improvement in the tear staining or discharge.
