Much Needed Family Cookbook
OMG!!! I am in love with this cookbook! Can I just say that I was literally on the fence about pre-ordering this cookbook but I decided to give it a chance....and I am so glad that I did. There is something for everyone in here. I feel that all of the recipes have an impressive quality but they won't break the bank and they are family friendly. I feel like all the recipes are show off worthy. I love the breakfast section and I usually by pass this section in cookbooks because I do not eggs unless they are cooked in something. I love that she steps outside the box with Waffles and French Toast two of my favorite breakfast foods. Ohhhh and I cannot wait to try the oatmeal. And I cannot wait to make the Quick Jam. My daughter loves her grandmothers jam but I am not the most patient so this is a nice alternative. And let's not forget about the Brown Sugar Bacon. I am going to indulge in that quite often for sure. Invest in a cast iron because the biscuits and cornbread will be calling your name for sure. Going thru the cookbook I felt like I was in my grandmothers kitchen with some extra umph. I can't wait to try the Cooking with Littles recipes with my daughter and niece. Mrs. Curry gives lunch a whole new meaning. Say bye bye to the normal ham and cheese sandwich for sure. Okay so on to the Game Day section. You know how I said I don't eat eggs well her deviled egg recipe makes me want to indulge. She topped it off with the bacon. I plan to make this for my family on Thanksgiving....I am already planning my menu and thinking about all of the ways I am going to show off with her recipes during the holidays. Out of the 30 items in the Making Dinner Happen section there is not one that I do not plan on trying! I'm even going to try the Brussels Sprouts! I see they are making a come back on the menu these days but her recipe is really the only one that has enticed me thus far. She has a drinks section that will have people coming back for seconds. I can't wait to use them during my girls nights. I'm not a big sweets person but I am going to make the Pound Cake and Bananas Foster for sure. Take one look at the pictures and you will see why I won't be able to resist. The Extras section was a surprise to me and I am so glad she has the section. I love all natural products and her scrubs and oils and masks are going to be a hit for me I am sure. She even has a coconut oil chest rub. I love my Vicks vapor rub but I would rather use something all natural on my daughter and myself and this is a great alternative. I will probably make this sometime this weekend because my daughter is a bit congested. Her Kitchen Notebook section is great for beginners. She breaks down her essential ingredients and kitchen items. She lets the reader know what is a must have and nice to have. This really helps me to build up my pantry and kitchen to the next level. I hate having to go out to the grocery store for one thing which is usually what happens when I am missing that one thing of seasoning, oil, etc. Throughout the book she gives suggestions about her recipes and gives a bit of background information. She also gives us a glimpse into her life. There were only a few things that I wish were changed in her book. One I wish there was a picture for EVERY food and drink recipe. I am big on pictures. Two I wish that she had the calorie count on things. I know calories aren't everything but depending on how I'm feeling I like to know. Lastly, I wish she gave the time of how long it takes to prep and cook the meals. With a little one time is especially valuable and sometimes I like to just go to the 30 minute recipes for my quick fix days. But those few things are. It enough to take even a half of a star away. This cookbook is a must have and I am so happy that I went ahead and purchased this book. I plan to get cooking on Sunday and hopefully after trying out a good number of the recipes I will come back and give an update on the taste and ease of the recipes. This cookbook is vibrant, fun, informative and essential (Oh and it is hardbacked so I can put it on my recipe stand with ease). As I turned each page my eyes got a bit bigger, my heart warmed, my smile widened and my mouth watered! Please support Mrs. Curry. It is obvious that she put her all into this book.**Update: after writing the review I got the itch to get into the kitchen. Made the ham and cheese waffles! Soooo good, quick and easy!!! Who would have thought that you could actually put pepper into waffles and it would be good! Ayesha is a genius in the kitchen!!

A heartfelt cookbook & good!
“The Seasoned Life” by Ayesha Curry is truly a special cookbook to own. It’s full of family love & wonderful recipes. See my pictures for the Contents. It’s nice variety of recipes. Some are easy to make while some take a little more time but if you love to cook, I don’t mind! What I like is some of the recipes are designed to make with children. The apple cinnamon oatmeal has become my families favorite. For game day the cheesy guacamole with homemade pita chips was a bit challenging but well worth making! I love the area for “Drinks for Daytime & Grown-Up Time!” I’ve made every dessert in the book & they’re all fabulous. The meat loaf recipe is amazing! This is full of amazing recipes & she keeps it family based. It ends with “What’s in My Pantry?” & “What’s in My Kitchen?” which I learned a lot from. This is an excellent recipe book to gift yourself or to a loved one. The book was well worth what I paid. I use this weekly. I highly recommend.

So far I have tried 4 of the recipes in the book and each one was AMAZING! Even my husband really liked them
I had pre ordered this book before it was released - no regrets! I'm am not much of a cook & I really hadn't cooked much of anything before I bought this book. So far I have tried 4 of the recipes in the book and each one was AMAZING! Even my husband really liked them, and he can be pretty picky (food snob.. *sigh*) ... there are some great recipes in this book and they are all very easy to follow. It has gotten me very excited about cooking, and I can't wait to try more!
