This is a jewel in disguise, but understand, it's not for everybody.
I've owned 5 of these razors over several years. In additional, I have also tried the norelco, foil, and flat strips types comparing then all. My personal criteria for a razor is for it to be in a compact size, to get a reasonably close shave, no skin irritation, without using foam, making a mess, or requiring a charging station. This one razor has met all my requirements. It's designed to be a travel/touch-up razor, but I use mine as my daily razor because I like it so much. Every other electric razor I have used (up to those that cost $150 dollars and requires a charging station) those do not shave any than better or closer than this razor! How does is it compare to the closeness of a blade razor? Blade razor wins, but not by much. Considered as a "cheap" razor, it punches way above its weight. I'm impressed. Here's how I use it. I replace the two 2AA batteries every 4-5 weeks. One of the things I hate is having a charging station taking up space and tying up an electric outlet by my sink. Batteries are cheap. My experience has been that the razor will last about 2 years. However, you will need to possibly have to replace the foil screens each year. Like every electric razor, those screens will wear out over time. On the other hand, I've never had to replace the cutting blades ever. You can buy the foil screens separately; they are very cheap. But given the price of the razor, just order a new one if can't find a replacement screen. Once a week I snap off the foil screens, clean out the stubble and lubricate the blades. Thats is it for maintenance and longevity. I have found that if I go more than 2-3 days without shaving, the razor will not shave as well the first time you resume. It will miss hairs (because they are too long to enter the foil screen) or will pull on your beard, ouch! My recommendation is that you shave with a blade razor first if you have gone without shaving for several days. My beard is normal size, not coarse. I would not recommend this razor for someone with a coarse beard. You'll need more power than this razor can generate. There is no trimmer function, its only purpose is for shaving. I give it 5 stars if you understand its design and limitations. If you have a normal beard, want a comfortable and close shave, want to get the job done with no frills, no fuss and with an incredible reasonable price; you should be happy with this purchase. I just bought another one! By the way, I don't shave in the shower and I don't know if it is rated as such. I also don't use shave gel/foam. Don't want the mess.

As Good As The Old Braun
We started using these travel shavers after our old shaver stopped working very well, even with new replacement blades, and we read a review by a man claiming that this little Remington Travel Shaver was equal to an expensive electric razor. Naturally, the man of the house was curious and I, as a woman of a certain age, was equally interested, given that little patch of twenty or so hairs down on the left side of my chin.We ordered one, that's right, just one, and tried it. What we found was that, over the course of one month, it worked as well as the old shaver had worked at its best. However, the blades stopped cutting as close by around the end of the third week. We now each have our own and, for my use, I'm going on three months and the blades are still good. For him, the blades do stop working very well around three to four weeks. So, he buys a new one every month and is thrilled. This thing is such little workhorse but, owing to the design, he can take it to work with him. He can drop it on the floor and just get a new one, if it breaks. The Remington shaver has all the shaving power he needs, gives a nice close electric shave, so not as close as a perfect razor shave, but still pretty close, can be taken anywhere and still be used when the power goes out. On top of everything else, it doesn't carry the worry of an ultra-expensive electric shaver that will stop working right around the time the cost of buying one of these every month or two has added up to around two-thirds of the cost of that expensive razor. We couldn't be happier and, as usual, it is all because we stopped to check with Amazon first, before making a decision. This little travel shaver is amazing, for both men and women, for facial hair and legs, and we both love it. Good luck finding the product that will meet your needs. I strongly advise anyone out there, who is tired of the stress of using an expensive shaver, to give this a try. It won't last forever and you won't need to worry about all things that can go wrong, over the course of a day, in a home filled with people. Thank you Remington engineers and staff. Thank you for the rest of my life.

Don’t Buy! Nice design but cheap plastic parts inside.
The media could not be loaded. Don’t buy it. I got mine & followed instructions to initially see how to clean it after use. Both heads flew out when I opened it (correctly) meaning neither head was snapped in from the factory and one head would not snap back in. I sought to return it and Amazon said contact the manufacturer or mail it back at my expense which means me buying a packing envelope and coughing a couple of dollars for postage. Smh well it has a couple of decent AA batteries 🤷🏽♂️ I’m only out $10 and won’t buy Remington again.

great value, gives a decent shave
This is my first electric shaver and I'm surprised how well it works. Will definitely be recommending this to people I know. I got tired of nicking myself with my safety razorPros:- Great value for the price.- Gives a decent shave- Pretty lightweight- Easy to detach and cleanCons:- I'd rather have an actual button than have to swing the shave guard to the lower position. I feel like the guard can break at some point. If it wasn't for this I would give the product a 5.

Perfect size for travel
This is working great so far and has a close shave. It’s smaller than other razors, perfect size for travel.

Works but not a very close shave.
Works but not a very close shave. Still had to use a razor to get a close clean shave. I problaby wouldn't buy again. But great price so I guess for quick semi clean shave it works.

Great small shaver
This is an amazing small shaver. It gives a very close, smooth shave without pulling. It’s great, and easy to pack for traveling. I like the swinging cover design that also runs the power to it. It’s comfortable to hold and It seems to be holding up well.
