Kool Stop Campy Old Insert Brake Pads - Set of 4

I used these to replace original Campagnolo brake shoes that are no longer available. I had to use a razor blade to modify the rubber so clear the mounting bolt. After all that they work great. Only buy if you are willing to modify and if your old bbrake shoes have a notch in the shoe.

These pads will not fit into a campy brake bracket without some serious filing or sanding. See photo which shows they are larger than the OEM pads.. Once you get them mounted they squeal terribly and I'm guessing it would take more filing to address this as the Campy mounts have very limited adjustability. I tried everythingn including sanding the surface of the pads with no luck and stopped trying out of fear of disturbing my neighbors with the horrific squeals. If you don't mind damaging your brakes, you could possibly address this by bending your brackets but I am not willing to do this on my bike. There is also no pattern on the brake surface and I think this may be part of the loud squeal you get when you use the brakes. I ended up removing them and going back to my original Campy pads which still have some life on them. So at least in my case, the pads are unusable and I'm back to searching for a solution.

These work really well. I ride around in Seattle. With the hills and rain, they still work really well. My only problem with them is that they squeal sometimes.

Pads seem to be too hard. Campy Record brakes aren't as adjustable as some and I had a hard time stopping the brake squeal. Eventually, I used an electric sander to taper the pads and end the squeal.

I just installed these break pads on a 1974 Raleigh Grand Prix. They look very similar to the original pads that were replaced and they work great.

I have an old custom steel bike with pre-90 Campagnolo Record groupset that I still ride. Replaced the brake pads on my Campy brakeset for a benefit ride. They fit perfectly and work as expected. Thanks.

These are indispensable replacement brake pads. They stop great, simply great. I lightly sand the brake surface before installing to get rid of the smooth surface from molding. They fit vintage brake shoe holders from Modolo, Campagnolo, Gipiemme ... even the rounded CLB brake shoe holders if you snip the corners of the brake shoes.
