OPERATION Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

We bought this because my wife and I both loved the original, and wanted our kids to have the same enjoyment, and this is a really cute alternative version. Instead of operating on the classic guy, you get to work on Bumble the Abominable Snowman. Instead of funny bones, you pull cold shoulders or mistletoe type items. Rather than the classic "buzz" when you make a mistake, you hear a roar and Rudolph's nose glows. For a holiday version of a classic game it is done really well. It also ties in nicely with the classic movies.It is by no means revolutionary, but overall, it's a fun alternative, and is a pretty good game, even if you only pull it out for the holidays (but will probably be a year round keeper here).

This game was to be a fun Christmas gift for the family. Unfortunately, it did not work. We tried several new batteries to no avail. Perhaps a defect in the construction.

EDIT (1-11-13)(The low stars are for the shoddy production of this game. I'm sure it's as fun as the other themed Operation games.)I love the actual idea of the different themed Operation games (and I own several of them). This one seemed like a very fun Christmas Eve event. As far as graphics, theme and pieces go it is awesome. However, after setting it up out of the box I used several sets of fresh batteries to test. The game did not work. This was a nasty Christmas Eve surprise for my seven year old daughter. I should have known better and tested on arrival. Hopefully this will help someone else (and myself) in the future. Though opening every gift to test them before giving seems asinine. But I will be doing this with products from this game company in the future.EDIT (1-11-13) Received the replacement AND THAT ONE wasn't working either. Same problem. New batteries but it just wouldn't work. I sent this one back (this is now the second copy of the game that's failed) Amazon didn't give me an option for another (3rd) replacement. Just a refund while they looked into the problem. This review is in regards to USAopoly. Amazon has been awesome through the whole process.

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her gift! She is enamored with anything Rudolph - and this really made her happy!!

We play this game often as a family and really love it. Just like the original operation game, except it has the fun twist of being based on the classic "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" movie characters. Such a great game.
