It’s a great product for basing minis. It has a good gritty texture, and is thin enough to spread easily without clumping up. I’ve used these Vallejo products for years, and like all their products, it’s good stuff.

This mud is the first thing I put on my model bases. It can be primed and painted easily. I've had one container for over 2 years and it is still fresh and high quality. This stuff is easy to use and works well for its task.

This is a perfect textile paint for basing Warhammer models and much cheaper. Used it for my Old World bases with a simple wash over it.

If you are into building and/or painting miniature figures for games like D&D or Frostgrave, this product makes basing quick and easy. Simply apply this thick paste to your base and allow it to dry. Takes paint well, but also looks great stand alone. Adds texture and interest to the bases of your minis. Also, you can add additional basing materials like rocks, cork, plastic skull or weapons, or ballast to the paste before it dries and it will act as a glue to hold these materials on your base. No need to prime the base, as this stuff sticks to everything and dries hard. The gel does shrink a bit during the drying process. You can build up the texture paste in multiple layers as well. **GREAT PRODUCT** This brown earth product is sort of the color of peanut butter. If you don't like the color, it paints very easily with or without primer.

The color dries matte. It sticks well. It takes paint well. The grain of the Vallejo dark earth gel is finer than you're likely to get if you make your own texture paint which means the texture is actually in scale. You also get a ton for your money. I'm not sure I'll live long enough to need to buy a second tub unless I take up commission painting. This is a hard product to beat.

Desert sand is *really* yellow.It's a good quality texture paste but it just looks way too unrealistic and flat in color tone IMO

Used this on my daughters diorama project.Perfect amount,great consistency,greta quality as well. Color is as close to what a soil would look like.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Way better than trying to glue sand or gravel to plastic, sticks well to bases and is easy to drybrush then varnish. Didn't bother painting or priming over the texture paint as its a nice color. The rocks and bush are stuck into the texture paint, no extra glue needed!
