Very useful
This is a very useful tool for divers. It turns it easy to signal when you are on the surface or even underwater, producing a loud noise so you can be easily noticed.

Saved us on dive trip
Don't leave home without it. I had read horror stories on scuba posts about people who got abandoned by their dive boat. Bought this as a precaution for diving in Southeast Asia's Komodo Islands where current can be strong. Family was teasing me that I was overly paranoid. However, one day we actually needed the air horn. Surfaced from 100 foot dive and boat was far off in the distance. Dive master whistled stadium style and then blew an emergency whistle but boat didn't hear us. I used the horn and got immediate attention after 2 blasts. If it wasn't for this horn, we could have drifted out to sea. An ounce of precaution is worth a pound of cure. Ensure your safety and get one for your next dive trip.

Great signaling / safety device!!!
This item works perfectly. Underwater on my last trip to BVI, I used it to signal my dive buddy when he was drifting off course. It's much more distinctive than traditional tank banging!! I tested it on the surface also, very loud as described. I saw others comments about it adding 3 inches of non flexibility to your inflator hose. I use an SS1 as my backup and inflator, while it does decrease flexibility slightly it is still usable. I feel the added safety vs the slight inconvenience well worth it in an emergency situation.

Um, well...
The device is built solid, i have no issue with the unit itself. However, in my situation i removed it from my gear. I have a scubapro night hawk BCD which has my backup 2nd stage integrated with the low pressure connector. Meaning in an emergency i would need to bring it to my mouth to breath. It adds 3 inches of unbending metal where rubber hose would be. Because of this its not allowing the mouth piece to easily sit in my mouth and is applying pressure away from my face making it a struggle to keep the mouth piece water tight to my lips. This would work much better on a BCD that has a backup 2nd stage on a separate hose.

adds inches where they don't belong
Although this unit only adds a couple of inches (effectively) to the inflator hose feeding the BCD / integrated second reg, it really screws that up. The inflator hose etc are all essentially cut to length cause among other things you got to pull on the inflator to release air from the BCD.

Worked great on recent dive
Worked great on recent dive. Woke up a napping captain who wasn't paying attention to where his divers were.It is a little cumbersome on the BCD hose but its value when needed is undeniable. It truly beats the little manual whistle we all have.
