We already had an different model of this thermometer which we have used for years. We love it, but it has become a bit balky recently with the buttons. We decided to change models because this one had buttons more widely separated and a larger readout. After trying it, the quality appears to be the same and it is easier to use. We consider it indispensable in the kitchen--accurate, fast, and convenient.

We use it in our brewery, I check the calibration every so often and it is always spot on. Water proof is great and its nice that you don't have to take the protective cover off to measure the temperature!
