This was a perfect fit for my laptop. The original battery quit holding a charge but the computer itself was fine, this is a great way to extend the life of the laptop. It came with everything needed to install including the screwdriver which was awesome!

I have a 4 year old HP Laptop 15-dy1xxx and the battery was draining quickly. Over the last two days I started getting an error message that there were ongoing issues with the battery. I started thinking about a new laptop, but ended up getting this to replace my existing battery. I'm happy I did. I had more problems removing the case that I did taking out the old battery and replacing it with the new one. Super simple and quick. Took me 20 minutes from start to finish. A big thanks to the seller. Everything is working well and hopefully it will last for another 4 years.

7/30/2024 Update:Accidentally ran it completely dead a few days ago, and now it won't charge. I know its not good for a battery to do that, but for it to completely kill the charging capacity is no bueno.Too bad, too - up until this point, it's been flawless, keeping a good solid 2.5+ hr operating life with screen only a little under maximum brightness.Install was simple, and after installing it and conditioning the battery per instructions (full drain to 5% and charge to full 3 times), the longevity so far seems to match the OEM with 2.5-3 hrs of battery life available at 90% screen brightness.No complaints so far. If anything changes, I'll update the review.Update 2 months in. Still provides about 3 hours of life while cruising the net at 90% screen brightness on 2019 HP Pavilion 6CR88AV 15" laptop.

I am still using this battery after I replaced the original one in my laptop. It was easy to open up my HP laptop and super easy to replace the battery. They provide small screw drivers to make is easy to replace the battery. The HP part was very expensive. But this product made it affordable.

installed in HP laptop was fairly straightforward, and at first the battery seemed to be working great. I am using Ubuntu 23.10, and battery statistics showed the correct watt hour capacity, and battery charged to that value. Ran several discharge/charge cycles and all seemed well... but after a couple of weeks, I noticed that the reported capacity after a recharge started to drop, and after one month, its down 10 watt hours from the original value. Last week, I charged the battery to 100%, shut it down and put away... today I take it out and power it up... initially it shows battery at 96% which is ok... I use the laptop for about 20 minutes and then suddenly the battery drops to critical 5% and laptop wants to shutdown. I plug in the charger, and now the reported capacity is only about half what it's supposed to be. I should have send it back for replacement/refund while it was still in the 30 day window, but it's such a pain to take the laptop apart I let it slide... oh well... what a waste of money.UPDATE. Several days after posting this review I was contacted by the seller who offered a refund on the battery. I accepted and am going to order another one. Hopefully I just received a bad one. Will pay closer attention to this next battery before the 30 day return window expires.8 MONTH FOLLOWUP: Battery is completely dead. Looks like one of the 3 cells is malfunctioning because the Ubuntu battery status shows the entire pack only having 8.4 volts. Laptop will work if plugged in but as soon as I remove charger, it immediately dies. Seems like this is a common issue with all the different sellers of these 3rd party batteries. Should have kept my OEM battery because at least I got about 50% capacity out of it. I will say the seller did refund my money so 5 stars for that... but they sold me a 1 star battery.

I've learned to not rely on the computer model number to order a new battery. I opened the computer up and get numbers right off the battery, then search Amazon with that. I got the exact same battery as was in it and it worked perfectly.
